  1. Not exactly lies are they Paul, given that we've not actually left yet. And please remind me which member of the remain campaign actually made these claims? I thought these predictions came from independent market analysts but happy to corrected? That said, the signs are already there. Since the referendum, the average UK house price has fallen by £10k. The strong economic growth compared to other G7 economies until the referendum has tailed off. Inflation is now running at around 2.5% whilst wages remain stagnant - effectively giving everyone a 2.5% pay cut. Reduction in earnings may be a key contributor to the fact that households are now borrowing more than they save - currently around 20% more. Business investment which was rising steadily for the last 10years prior to the referendum has now flatlined and many companies have pulled out of the UK already - including Leave guru Dyson who has now relocated his worldwide head offices so that the UK no longer gets his companies taxes. The biggest withdrawal is likely to be in Automotive as it's the most JIT industry sector and the parts are all made in Europe so there's no point in continuing to manufacture cars in the UK. And when companies in any sector leave we no longer get their taxes. Lack of confidence has led to UK stocks being devalued compared worldwide developed markets with the gap currently being 25 points average so both pensions and jobs are under threat. I'm not happy to be manipulated by the foreigners like Murdoch, Bannon, Mercer and the American hedge funds who orchestrated the Leave campaign for personal gain. Britain is getting devalued and the foreigners who manipulated it are getting very rich on the markets the back of it whilst ordinary British people face a future of even lower paid jobs, increased poverty, service shortages and devalued pensions. I just hope it doesn't work out that way, but all the signs are that it will - and we haven't even left yet.
  2. Have to say our recruiting has been poor other than the U16s in recent years and only a few of them will make it as professionals. Peterborough have also just signed a cracking young wing back from King's Lynn - only seen him once but he was the best player on the park by a country mile. Bench warmer at best for now, but next year... There are some great young players about like that lad Hickey who played in the Scottish cup final last week at the age of 16 and totally looked the part. New owners need to sort the scouting out.
  3. The thing is that Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is an idiot, even by foreign born, dual nationality, Eton educated ponce standards. If he was intelligent, diplomatic or even had a handle on what's happening in the real world then he could be a potential leader of the country, but he's none of the above. As for the £350 million a week business, he might well have believed it at the time because that's what Cummings told him to say and keep on saying (along with the million Turks that were going to move in next door) but it's peanuts in the scheme of things seeing as Brexit has cost us £600 million a week every week since the referendum and God knows how many jobs already. And that's before the JIT dependent British Automotive Industry goes tits up with another 900k jobs at risk.
  4. It's designed to scare off time wasters. If they refunded the money it wouldn't work would it? I just hope that the alleged number of interested parties doesn't mean that a bidding war will kick off again where the only criterion is who will front the most money rather than considering what's the best bid for the long term future of the club. Hopefully the administrators will bear that in mind rather than solely looking at the short term gains for the creditors.
  5. ...for alleged misconduct in a public office - basically lying about the EU during the referendum campaign. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-48445430 Looks like a bit of a stunt which rhymes with Boris.
  6. Don't think the bookies know any more than we do about what will happen over the next few weeks so they're just throwing out a price to see who bites. We need title winning form just to get to the playoffs and to do that we need to get a rich owner, top players whilst under an embargo and have a bit of luck thrown in. And we don't even no for sure that we won't be liquidated yet so there are a lot of ducks to line up before I'd consider throwing money at the bookies.
  7. Saw a stat about McGinn that surprised me - made more tackles than any other player in the Villa side this season.which to me reflects the deeper role his been given. Still managed to be second on assists for the season though. Tidy player IMO.
  8. Sluffy doesn't get sarcasm. Or humour. Or differentiating between opinion and factual statement when it doesn't suit his mission to be revered as "an authority" by strangers on the internet. He does ask some interesting questions from time to time though - usually ones that can't be answered without inside knowledge.
  9. Newcastle is a decent purchase at the right price given that they have a gigantic catchment area with bugger all competition for fans especially between them and Scotland. Like Norwich - huge county and no other league teams. We on the other hand are literally surrounded.
  10. Nothing illegal about expressing a concern, perception or opinion providing it's couched in the right language - "allegedly" or "I reckon" etc. As regards Anderson, the law only deals with acts that contravene existing statutes and if he turns out to be a conman/asset stripper or whatever, surely someone with his experience would use a strategy that remains within the existing law to avoid being prosecuted again - loopholes. So there is always the possibility that he could have .e.g. engineered the demise of our club for personal gain without contravening the word of the law. That would be legal but not necessarily morally correct and unfortunately English Law is not all it's cracked up to be and doesn't cope well with people who have the resources to exploit and work around it.
  11. As regards Anderson doing something improper, it's unlikely that anything will come out although there's a slight chance if and when we get a new buyer and the accounts are published and a greater chance if we go into liquidation as there would probably be a post mortem to the scandal. That said, in the meanwhile there is nothing wrong in folk writing down their concerns and suspicions about what's gone on on a chat forum as they represent personal opinions which is the whole point of a forum.
  12. The guy who gave me a permanent ban on his website? Oh yeah, he's a bundle of laughs.
  13. Couple of Chelsea fans in the pub today watching the Championship playoff and they were rooting for Derby/Lampard in the first half and being very abusive to the lone Villa fan - who happens to be my mate. Second half they see John Terry in the Villa dugout and realise for the first time he's their coach. With Villa winning I've never seen allegiances switch so fast. Wankers.
  14. Having "infested" WW pretty much since it was set up in one guise or another I've read the bullshit you write from time to time without complaining but that doesn't make me an acolyte of yours - or anyone else for that matter. It's a forum so I don't have to agree with anyone or believe anything that anyone says or even read their posts if I don't want to and seeing that every user has that level of control over the situation, the last thing anyone needs is some jumped up little fascist trying to play Big Brother and censor anything they don't like. Read the rules you agreed to when you joined. You know what to do if you don't like them.
  15. With May's "deal" off the table now after that result it looks like No Deal v 2nd Referendum. Votes for parties with No deal as an acceptable policy were 35% of the vote Votes for 2nd Referendum parties 40% of the vote However the spin will be that it's an overwhelming vote to leave now and Jezza will spin it so that there's no way he'll stand aside for someone like e.g. Sir Keir who's electable to the middle of the roaders. Funny old game politics. Can't wait to see what happens next.

    Bury

Didn't Utd lend them their training ground or something like that? Probably a Neville Neville deal. Whatever it was they should be a bit more sympathetic to our situation.
  17. Wanderlust

    Bury

I think some Bury fans have forgotten how some Wanderers fans helped to keep them going when they were going under when they were "selling seats" etc just 20 or so years ago.
  18. Personally I don't think it matters whether everything Howard wrote was right or wrong seeing as he kept us all entertained and distracted during one of the darkest periods of our club's history. I'd like to read more of his bullshit TBH.
  19. Just watched the "highlights" of the play-off final. Thought Newport were robbed. Only consolation was that I didn't have to sit through the whole 120 minutes.
  20. The obligation remains but the accounts for 17/18 were due on the 31st March and are still outstanding. It is in the interest of both the Administrators and any new owner to get them agreed and filed asap - and yet Anderson still has the responsibility until we are either liquidated or there's a change of ownership. Obviously HMRC are being tolerant given the circumstances. Key date for me is the 7th June as it's the final day for bids to be submitted (by 4pm) and we should hear something within a few days of that both on ownership and the accounts.
  21. Big fan of gravy is Allardyce, especially of the train variety.
  22. The trouble with the law is that it also applies differently in different circumstances and it restricts itself to what is before the court often without considering the broader implications to determine whether or not a crime has been committed. And some laws actually protect criminals. For example - and this is a true case - a house builder used his charm to run up huge lines of credit with suppliers running into millions and at the same time offered his houses for sale at a lower price than his competitors to generate huge sales. He loaned the income to a company set up in his wife's name who in turn loaned it to a company registered at a postal address in the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands company then refused to repay the loan, so the wife's company was liquidated and the builder liquidated his own company in turn, so the suppliers were never paid. We all expected the builder and his wife to then retire to the Cayman Islands to collect his money, but instead he stayed in the U, set up another building company in his cousin's name and repeated the stunt. Then he retired. He sold the enormous mansion he had built in the UK - which wasn't touched because of the stupid Ltd Liability laws first though. He made in excess of £5 million and that was back in the 70s. Two of his suppliers went bust and the rest lost loads and in some cases had to shed staff. His subbies weren't paid either however in the eyes of the law he did nothing illegal - but you try telling that to the people he ripped off - including us via the taxman - and those who lost their livelihoods. Whilst the courts have limited jurisdiction abroad, would it not have been possible to explore this and at least demand reasonable proof of valid reasons to lend the money to his wife and for her to lend it to a foreign company in the first place?
  23. If that's true, buying a club with a hotel in the ground is an even less attractive proposition.
  24. Quite true but there's illegality and there's morality and the law is inadequate as it allows for mistakes, corruption by third parties and bad markets. That combination creates it possible to strip assets out of a business all within the law. Proving the intention behind it is nigh impossible which is why Anderson was merely banned from Directorships rather than being banged up when he was caught doing it last time
  25. Proving that making a profit is possible. Also notable that Wolves, the biggest losers will have recouped all those losses and more already, with more to come next season. All about management.
