  1. That's what happens when we have someone with the ability of Bridcutt dropping deep and showing for it. I thoroughly expect us to lose on Saturday but the green shoots of recovery were in evidence tonight. We're on our way back.
  2. Sharon's very impressive, appearing personable and competent. I think we're in very good hands and I'm looking forward to seeing where she takes us.
  3. How do we confirm whether we want a physical or digital season ticket?
  4. Oxford United and Sunderland weren't, for what it's worth.
  5. No, I logged in and at the top of the screen was a message which read "Hello (my name)" and then underneath that "Notification (1)". When I opened my notifications, there was the link to renew my seat.
  6. Have you logged in? I got a notification with a link to renew my season ticket. Click that, click "Renew Season Tickets" and it has your seat automatically selected.
  7. Brockbank is good enough to play in the first-team. I'm not concerned with how he's played recently because I view those performances in the context of him playing in a team which was hopelessly outmatched.
  8. This digital ticketing thing, what exactly is it? Is it just the option to now have our tickets scanned at the turnstiles on a mobile device? Or is it more than that?
  9. They're not the same argument. People of an ethnic minority background not attending football matches through fear of racial abuse, racial harrassment or racially-motivated violence from drunk supporters is one thing. Muslims refusing to attend, or not wanting to be seen to approve of, football matches in a places where alcohol is sold is another. I'm not suggesting that either argument is completely without merit (though I believe the former is much more significant a factor, and I know Muslims who attend regularly with no qualms about alcohol being sold) but they're different.
  10. Imagine being 23-years-old and going out of your way at the end of the match to push in the chest and taunt a 17-year-old who's just missed the final penalty on his full debut.
  11. I'm bracing myself for a backlash for this, but I'd prefer it if we did something different. The past is the past. Let's move on.
  12. I hope Eddie Brown scores tonight. It'd be the perfect reward for his efforts.
  13. I should add that the analogy he's chosen doesn't work, but the central point about the integrity of the competition I think is a fair one.
  14. Hypothetical though it may be, I think his argument is fair enough.
  15. The quickest player I've ever watched play for us.
  16. Well, I suppose it means they haven't needed to sell the stadium to raise capital. And I assume the profits from the hotel will cover the four per cent per annum interest? Nixon (usual caveats) has tweeted some intriguing things about Sharon Brittan's "master plan". I suspect there's much more to be revealed here.
  17. Me too. Although because I don't know very much about him and because he's only played a handful of senior matches, I have him down as something of a wildcard for now. But in Hill and Flitcroft we trust.
  18. We can still sign free agents but they'd have had to have cancelled their contracts prior to the closure of the most recent transfer window to play for a new club before January. So if they haven't cancelled their contracts already, it means they're staying where they are.
  19. I'm very confident Hill and Flitcroft will quickly make us hard to beat, though I doubt we'll be avenging our heavy defeats or dishing out drubbings any time soon. Bridcutt is probably the "best" player but I'm very much looking forward to finding out what we can get out of Ali Crawford. Wright will be the defensive organiser, I presume, and Murphy will ensure we play more football in the opposition half than we have been recently. We're competitive again, we're focusing on football, and it feels fantastic.
  20. I think it's more that they agreed mutual terminations of soon-to-expire contracts in order to play football. But of course it's good that they want to come here.
