A hell of a lot of teams & alright ones at that in for him considering he's meant to have only bagged about 4 goals in the EFL. If he turns out be decent then we have an asset on our hands of a good age who's physically a pain in the arse for CB's to play against, if he's wank then surely a Scottish team will take him off our hands for a bit of cash seeing as he's just been made to look like Zlatan in that league!

Also in same article “Wanderers have made progress on a few transfer fronts and appear to be favourites to land Hull City’s defender Matty Jacob.” Presumably will be our first cash signing of the summer

Transfer Gossip
If he wasn't extending his deal at Argyle in which apparently he did get an offer then it made sense assuming he'd likely come to us or the rugby team due to the connections. Argyle fans seem surprised by it as they rate him pretty highly it seems, did notice he's from London though so could be location like a lot of lower league careers. Yeah, hopefully we manage to bring in somebody who will really be part of a spine as it seems we've had the same lot Morley, Sheehan, Thomo, Demps for ages now & it deffo needs freshening up.

Seems that Jordan Houghton who most assumed we'd be in for due to Schumacher-Argyle connection has signed for the mighty Stevenage.

I mean if he can bring that JDB style of play & genuine aerial ability then it may turn out to be a good option on a free. Suspect he’ll be our version of what Cosgrove was in Schueys Argyle team

Langstaff needed that natural step up to L1 but can’t blame him jumping at chance that high up when you’ve come from non-league. He was thrown in at Millwall as the man behind the striker just to shoehorn him in, not his game at all & was the wrong move for him. Would be worth a little gamble as a second choice alternative to a new big man whilst his stocks dropped.

We likely were in for him but we’ve never been a club in recent years to be throwing massive wages to tempt free agents so this isn’t a surprise considering he’s one of the standout champ free agents willing to drop down. If you’re joining a club this early, having a move on the cards like that then it screams Hudds being the first club to match his big wage demands & he’s jumped at the chance not believing his luck as let’s be honest that club will be in desperation mode after the shit show second half of a season they had. It’s not so much Ledson himself who is a priority for us, it’s just the profile of player which he fits as we need a few of them types to set the standards week in week out and be able to lead on the pitch, I’m confident we’ll have a good window & get a few good sorts in as we’ve neglected it for five years it’s paramount this summer we get it right.

Never been a fan of Morley & Sheehan in the same midfield really. They both want to do a similar job, coming deep to get on the ball both wanting to control the game & dictate. Good against the Exeter's & Crawley's but bloody useless to have both when playing an organized semi decent outfit

Really rated him highly for the most part, obviously had some stupid mistakes in & wasn't the most focused of defender but on a free transfer with not much expected of him he did well relatively speaking. Just a shame we didn't cash in on him when his stock was high enough at a good age, same with Sheehan if we don't do with him at least we managed to shift Dion before he was completely finished. Don't really care where Santos ends up, I doubt he'll play much anyway I think Evatt ran his faves into the ground & the likes of Toal, Baxter, Dion, Santos, Demps haven't got over playing through specific injuries when our fixture schedule was chaotic.

Santos has been long gone for months, heads down south & hasn't wanted to be here since Wembley shit show. Dempsey will probably end up as Carlisles marquee signing in non league, really like the lad he's probably been my fave player over past few seasons but his knee is totally fucked. Baxter was one of the best keepers in the league last season, few weeks ago I'd say keep but although he stated he wants to stay it doesn't look like he does with his performances on the pitch. Johnstone I'm really not arsed about, he was going to run his contract down and leave for a free not so long ago I'd be trying to cash in on him especially if we're moving away from a back three. Gethin just looks shot to bits, his passing has always been poor but his fitness has completely spiralled & is getting rings ran round him these days. Matete has been our best player past few games but where has that been all season? There's a player there, would probably take him as a squad option

Schon & Randall playing some really good stuff it's just unfortunate that they can't shoot.

Keep Get Rid
Main thing that cost us going into this season was no real plan through the summer we were trying to wave a few quid at the likes of McAtee/Dembele/Schon/Randall ect but it seemed like it was "lets get a few more luxury players in the mix" without really knowing what roles they'd actually fit into & not actually realising that maybe some of them wouldn't be able to play together. Looking in hindsight Pompey went from 8th to champions within a good summer of committing to a system & recruited smartly for that way of playing. Wycombe finished 9th last season, recruited smartly for how they wanted to play this season although it's dire to watch it's got them competing near the top I mean we even loaned them Morley thinking they'd be nowhere near the top end. Charlton signed a decent striker in Godden, packed the midfield with absolute battlers & have turned into a really tough nut in a short space of time due to having a decent manager who won't take anything but full effort throughout the whole team... they finished 16th last season so another example of how a good summer can rocket you back into business. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what his plan is for us next season seeing as he's addressed a lot of the glaring issues that makes us dreadfully one dimensional, one paced & one geared instead of overlooking & choosing to ignore the massive holes that get exposed season on season like the last manager. Not going to be easy moving on some of our sick notes & high earners who think they've made it at us but with not being in the play offs we have the time to work things out.

Player of the season
I went with Forrester even though he only played half the season, purely because at least he actually had a good spell where he went about 10 games in a row pretty much MOTM.

Wycombe Wanderers (H)
Schu in his interview Lack of physicality to hold the ball up No pace throughout the squad bar Tutu so can't hurt teams in transition or counter at speed Soft all around, mentioned bringing in some characters with experience into the squad with a knack of knowing how to grind wins. Three of our most biggest glaring issues over the past few years what we never ever address season on season but instead stock pile similar mould of player type that's not needed. Glad he's seen our issues over this period & can address them in the summer rather than waste another season having the issues getting glaringly exposed. All comes down to if he gets backed, if he does I'm fully confident he'll make us hard to beat & able to grind wins.

Hopefully the tank up top can start the next few because I'm bloody sick of seeing the little pencil framed, lightweight, diving little bollock-less twats we've stocked up falling to the floor as soon as somebody's come across to them.

Injuries
I'd build around Morley out of them all, especially how much he improved physically. He was always good on the ball but was slow getting around the pitch but even though we've been poor he's done pretty well especially when 90% of the time when he's looking to provide our so called two attackers are nowhere to be seen in the box. Hopefully it's not a bad injury as if we address the glaring issues that hurt us for the past few seasons & get a bit of balance in around him we could see him be very influential next season. Our midfields been built very poorly over the years, Dempsey's the most complete one but unreliable, Sheehan is good on the eye but a lot of the time completely pointless if a mans been stuck on him, Thomason although a great attitude & work ethic has been poor since given captaincy. If we need to sell a few to get some in then so be it, needs freshening up in that area.

Barnsley (A)
The positive I’ll take is the reason I wanted to new gaffer in for the rink quarter of the season. At least he can see how mentally & physically weak are squad is as well as injury prone added to it the fact none of them can hack any sort of pressure situation. Any new manager taking over if Evatt stayed would only see that when going into next season, at least Schuey can address it after seeing it now in time for the start of the season. A lot of these players need fucking off & we need to get a proper physical centre mid in along with a physical forward they’re priority’s.
