To whom do you loan a player who can't get beyond the bench in a side 17th in Division 4 ? He's a good prospect whose never yet let tje team down when given a chance. Worse performing players than Darcy have been given good runs. I'd just like to see him given a run.

There ARE two types, agreed. One. Local-ish to the club & a genuine reason to support them. Two. Wankers.

I didn't watch yesterday. Did the long-throw guy do anything of note ? Did we defend his throws well ?

It must be the way you explain it. That sounds as "easy" as Astro Physics.

Unless he does something crass we're stuck with this preening, shape-changing, charlatan for this & into next season. So it's to be hoped he can develop some sort of system. At the moment I don't see any coherent thinking from him at all.

Back to no keeper on the bench. Insane. It was previously, it is now. He's a deliberately perverse fckr.

Darcy obvuously not training well. Or maybe doesn't look good on the bench. Not sure what Arthur didn't do right in his cameo. Tutte, well, I'm anazed.

That's exactly what it is. Along with moving to 4-3-3. He's experimented on us, he's stubborn, it's failed so far & he's happily thrown Toby Porn-Name under the bus. He should remember that one of Tobes' recruits was himself. Basically he's given up on this season & just wants it over. Meanwhile we're left realising that top 6 is drifting further away & we're not as comfortably above the bottom to feel at ease. If the season gets curtailed, & that’s increasingly likely, we need to be nowhere near that.

Which is fair enough, & Lee needs a bit of care too. But a player who's first choice, but lacking stamina should start & come off when tiring, not begin on the bench. Then, there are other options than 19 yr olds or a 22 year old with 7 games on his cv. Mascoll, Hickman, Comley & Greenidge must be viewed as really, really shite not to be given a bit of time. Gone, effectively, already. Where are Darcy, or even Riley in the great man's thinking ? Anyway, we'll see.

This is all getting a bit weird tbh. If these 2 were World beaters you'd say fine, but ... & best wishes to them ... they ain't that. It says little for his view of our own youngsters ... including Darcy. wtf is wrong with Tutte now ? Injury in training ... the plague ? If it's the former they need to get a grip on what they're doing.

The official Wigan are shit thread
Yep. It's there, or it isn't. In real, real terms £3m is chicken feed.

How do I post a photo here ? Anyway, it's the ones Zico's posted, just not in green !

That picture was the first game of the 58/9 season. Playing Leeds. The wider angle shows a young Jack Charlton nowhete near challenging him. Nat's power is in full view in this. The official crowd was 29,000. There must be 16,000 on the embankment in the photo, so that's dubious.

Our Goalkeeper Situation
You can do as much pitty-pat as you like, you can have 75% possession, you can be as fit on 90min as you were on 5min. One big fck-you 50+ yard long throw not dealt with & it's all for nought.

I'm there. I get it. It's just not easy. Like back in July when I looked at the fixtures.

Entirely this. All of it.

I bait my breath as I wait. A midfielder seems an odd one, I'd have thought it where we least need someone at present.

Our Goalkeeper Situation
We began the season on a hope & a prayer with Crellin. God knows what he'll develop into but he's no use as first choice at present. It was a mistake. Many, many goals were shipped due to his presence. Not simply errors he made but the lack of confidence in him affected defenders too. We had an 18/19 year old who Evatt didn't trust to even be on the bench, so much so that we went into games with no keeper on reserve. We had a very capable 38 year old as back-up who by now really is a coach & wasn't match-fit when even Evatt, eventually, saw Crellin needing changing. Gilks has done well but is a pull, a knock, an unfortunate sending off from us needing an alternative. It'd be very risky to rely on him alone. Even if it's just for a loan we need a proper one. Soon.

Bury
Apparently, news to me but probably well known by many, there are 2 distinct supporter groups who won't deal with each other & returning to Gigg at the core of it. Amazing really.
