Absolutely agree, but you only needed to post this ☝️☝️☝️. In fact, could you post it on this day every month ?

The official Wigan are shit thread
"Lisa Nandy" and "Turd" in the same sentence. It's happened before & doubtless will again. Her solution to all this is to make it a "people's club", run by the fans, for the fans. Well, those may make interesting headlines, but they're bullshit. It's guarenteed to make whatever survives a basket case and they'd be lucky to stay alive in the Conference. (Which, don't get me wrong, would be a good thing ... if they have to survive at all).

He's shown a his faith in White, when fit. Tutte got in when he wasn't & made the place his, but White will get the gig. I'd rather he went for the jugular and played a creative player there ... Darcy for me ... but he won't. Thomason is getting good talk-ups from Evatt &, of course Regan did very well in his outing v a team from higher in the leagues right now. I just don't think he'll take those sort of adventurous steps. Comley. His record with a decent Colchester side last year was very solid & he SHOULD be able to rediscover that. Who'da thought 8 games ago we'd be able to discuss options ?

Was that as difficult to write as it was to read ?

2020/21
If only we'd signed Chelsea's Blackman (that's a name, not a description btw) when he was offered to us. He's at Rotherham now.

Another scale entirely though.

I'll admit, when I read of £2.5m & £1.5m limits back in the summer I did wonder this. 😲🙄

Parky sacked!
The new rules only applied fof players signed since ig was implemented so as per us with Doyle & Sarcevic a lot slipped under the net. Their wage bill as a 2nd Tier team when relegated in 2018 was said to be £40m !! They had 64 professional players on their books. Currently thought to be paying around £10m. So 4x the 3rd Division salary cap. As those players contracts end they can only renew them at a fraction of current rates. Any new players will count to the cap. Paying players off is counted as £salary spend, so not easy. There are very few of their squad who turn heads so they'll be few takers. (As Evatt will find in January with his much-vaunted clear out of those signings who've not come good). They'll sit out their contracts. The new manager, whoever, whenever, will be hamstrung by this. Won't be able to be rid of the ones he doesn't fancy, won't be able to sign those he does. New owners can come it waving open cheque-books but they can't spend their money. He has to get promoted THIS season, using the overpaid players no-one rates. Players used to playing Parky-Ball. Players who know, if they DO get promoted, will be promptly replaced. Ooops.

This ☝️☝️☝️ They were underwhelmed at his arrival & plenty were on his case before he had his name on the door. A bit like Megson here, but on a larger scale. The previous guy, Ross, was only given about a dozen games. They have had 22 managers since Reid left in 2002. 22 in 18 years. Most of them arrive lauded as saviours, until they haven't won the Champion's League within 6 matches of rolling up. If there's a consistently funnier sight in football that Mackem fans standing up en-masse & heading to the exits when they let in a goal in the last 10 minutes I've yet to see it. There's even a familiar sound that goes with it as the seats slap up. They do get huge crowds ... the result of only having 2 professional teams in a huge geography ... but can easily be down to 10,000 by the end of a match when things don't go their way.

Yes, Granadaland has often encroached. The population of North East Wales is about 40% English and they shop & work in Chester, Wirral, Manchester & Merseyside. They support Everton & Stretford ... & a bit of Liverpool with Wrexham sometimes their team but even then they have a "second team". Come round there & look at the TV aerials & 90% point to Winter Hill. Otherwise they're getting news stories from Merthyr & Neath & Cardiff which means f'call to them. It only joins together as a nation for the Rugby otherwise they hate each other. But, when the Assembly was created there was a push to establish airwave boundaries & so BBC NWest & Granada were ordered to keep out and a lot more TV relay masts were built. So the old Clwyd area is no longer covered on NW tv. Racism really.

Wow. Thanks. I remember the 3 or was it 4 games, but not the disallowed. Ta.

Their fans have no concept of the £2.5m wage cap in Div.3. Read their posts & you'd think it didn't exist. Their views of who they should/can sign & how simple they think it'll be to bin some of their squad certainly comes under anyone's definition of deluded. Due to the cut-off point of introducing the wage cap this summer they got away with their current wage bill of over £10m. If they don't get promoted this time then they will need to release pkayers. They won't be able to pay them off &, viewed as failures, no-one will want them. They HAVE to get promotion this time. They're pinning their hopes on a take-over but, like their Tyneside friends, talks have been going on for a year. No-one will sign as their new long-term manager until ownership is sorted out unless desperate or courted by the new owners if things are close

Nantwich/Crewe is North West. Alsager & Audlem are Midlands. There's only about 4 miles between them but the distinction is very clear. Stokies are a breed apart. Stoke & its five fckg towns are holes ... & not in a good way. It will please all to know their wages must be the lowest I've ever witnessed ... including the Welsh Valleys & Middlesbrough.

The fan's choice is "Super Kevin Phillipss'. With zero experience. Even suggesting Poyet returns with 'SKP' his announced deputy to take over in 18m. Some even fancy Roy Keane's return coz, apparently, "he's learnt his lesson & no longer has temper issues". As I said, deluded feckwits.

Parky sacked!
Deservedly. Anyone who takes up the post of managing there is going to fail as their fans are deluded fecks. Add that to him being the most uninspiring, caution first, big boot neanderthal and it was a marriage made for divorce. It's a shame they didn't give him a bit longer to fail more completely.

I went to Vale Park around 1972 to see the promotion team on their march. It was the match when a PV ballboy offered Byrom the ball, then threw it away ... leading to Byrom picking the little runt up by his throat. They had a wire fence AND a net to stop people chucking stuff. They also had some building work going on. We could have built a wall from the house bricks which made it through. We were escorted back to our, by now windowless, coach by cops who were less than friendly.

Embankment
I have a photo of the empty Embankment ... well half of it (the bit that was, generations later, to become the Normid) ... from probably the 50's & it's truly huge. I don't know how to post it here. If someone can give me instructions I'll put it on.

Aren't they just. Lost their last 5 in tbe league, won in the pointless cup against L'pool U21's, lost at home to King's Lynn in the FACup. Blimey. Just to keep the theme going ... "we're going to fck this up, aren't we !" I really, really would love Tutte to be replaced by Darcy and make even the DM role one which adds to our attacking intent. I know he won't but that'd be quite a statement.

I've obviously seen goals disallowed, I'm sure I've seen us have 2 disallowed though can't recall when. But 4. That's got to be a record.

9th with an extra game played then. I'm pleased we turned matters around as it'll influence our January options.

I've just seen him, pre-kick off, looking like shite & carrying 2 boxes of dhiarrea tablets. I'd rather he didn't do anything so risky as bowing.

Showing, very clearly, that Tutte has been the driver of our recent form ... & that White's not a patch on him. He's clearly learnt nothing watching how it should be done. Controversial maybe, but I'd consider putting Darcy there. He can tackle, he's quick and he has a good eye (& foot) for a pass.

Embankment
I've been on with 62,000 & 63,000. My memory is that it was claimed to be a 68,000 max. The Embankment 28,000, as stated above, also rings bells.
