When you look at things like Little Britain which lampoon and demonise the working classes with characters such as Vikki Pollard, are there any Likley Lads left? If you look at past great tv sitcoms such as Auf Wierdersehn Pet,Open All Hours, Rag Trade, the working classes weren't vilified in the way they seem to be today by people who in most cases are from public schools and have never been close to doing anything like manual labour. Look at a character like Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses, he was a fool, but people identified with him and everyone so badly wanted him to do well. Compare that to Harry Enfield's Loadsamoney who was just the working class devil incarnate. A man ready to rip off the clueless middle class when all they wanted was to have their hallways plastering.
