Also paid a lovely tribute to a former coach

He was much more than a coach. Sure he used to sleep at the Harriers, must have been there 23 hours a day for the last god knows how many years. Really nice bloke and a huge loss.

Also well done Keely (obviously)

I knew Joe Galvin - he was a nice chap who, as sad above, devoted his life to Leigh Harriers.

In my competitive days LH owned the Charles Street track, backing onto Holden Road, which was a 371 yard pre-First World War cinder track. The infield was overgrown to over a foot above the track, and there was still one set of rugby posts in place as Leigh played there for the first season after WW2. I was in a Warrington team which must have set a world best for 4 x 185 and a half yard relay.

Indoors it's a safe tactic for favourites to set the pace and Keely's 200m splits in the semi were about, 28, 29, 30 and 33 and then in the final 28, 29, 30 and 31. Despite was was said she is not competitive nationally over 400m, and maybe should try 1500s at some stage in domestic championships.

ive seen it and thought it was her

It makes sense that it'd be her I suppose. Drive past it fairly often and always wondered who it was.

I'm not well up on athletics and fully admit to only looking for her ont BBC sport website after hearing about pierced nipples and then put 2 and 2 together.

Joe Galvin coached me for years when I ran at Leigh, he coached me for my PB of 2:38:45 for the 1984 London marathon, he was a great coach and a really nice fella
