Unless you were fishing of course (that isn't a sport either) Exactly what I think about most of the woke inspired bullshit you post. The only notable thing about Earps is that her surname rhymes with turps. SPOTY might as well be abandoned now. Just another tool for the tools who would have us believe that everything we instinctively know to be true deserves a label ending with 'ist'. Quote

Wokery on display with 'quota's', 'inclusivity', 'virtue signalling' etc. Like everything else they tamper with, the show will die a slow death. Joe Public may have to keep having this nonsense rammed down his throat but he knows who truly deserves such accolades. 💯 Pure nonsense Quote

Its a popularity contest, no more, no less And, to a generation of young girls, earps, tooney and russo are the new pop stars Theyre not the best footballers in the world but they put the effort in with their young fans, who, in turn, love them Girls who want to play football, be like their idols My daughter is a wanderer and is less likely to watch earps than me, but i reckon at age 8 when she had had enough of apple dance, she wouldve been all over it Quote

jeep Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Anyone getting themselves worked up by who won SPOTY needs to get a grip...... The fact that women's soccer is as popular as it's been in the last 50 years is superb. To see youngsters having female role models, and also attending women's soccer matches is lovely to see. Young girls feeling inclusive in sport can only be a positive, surely? Quote

mickbrown Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 In fact, did any of those bitching about the fact she won take the effort to vote? I’d be fucking amazed if they did Quote
royal white Posted December 22, 2023 Author Posted December 22, 2023 (edited) Weird this, when anyone in the past asked why the likes of Owen, Murray, Giggs won it most folk agreed saying they have fuck all personality. Question why a woman wins it and its basically Misogyny. Edited December 22, 2023 by royal white Quote

It also makes the most revenue. Nobody in the UK knows who the best NBA women's teams are or players. Same with boxing or F1 etc Everyone wants equality so why not mix it up in sport? It's obvious why ... men are superior in most sports. Quote

As I said personally I think Broady should have won it but as I did not even watch it can not pretend to be too bothered I am sure his legacy will be untarnished by the snub. Quote
