Pompey had 2600 in the Upper Tier a few weeks ago.

Surely nearer to 2k

If the whole stand holds 5k then I'd be surprised if its an equal split for upper and lower tier

Would expect lower tier to hold more

Also Pompey had 2.6k but half tier and half lower

Forgot they had half and half.🙄

Was it only 19/20 when we were considering closing the upper tiers?

Yeah the last season before Covid. Which tbf we were on our arse in pretty much every way imaginable and season tickets were pretty much literally half of what they are now.

Average crowd was 11,511 in 19/20.

The upper tier is the 2160 we've restricted them to. Definitely us that has done the restriction this season as it's so specific. I think it was probably done as a tit for tat against Barnsley limiting us to 2000 last season, but I still don't agree with it. Offering another thousand to 3k each would have been ideal as we aren't going to sell out the bottom of South stand.

The Pompey allocation was 2.6k but that was getting an allocation of half of upper and half lower (and lower holds more like 3k)

Posted an article the other day for the Yorkshire post that said last season we decided it was upper tier only for away fans before we even knew who we were playing in the semi

And the home leg was first

So last season our allocation at Barnsley in the second leg will have matched ours on the first leg, IE 2163

And they knew exactly what they were getting this season so that's what we got for the first leg

So I think the upper tier capacity is probably about 2163, because Barnsley filled it last season

Oh right the other way round in the tit for tat battle? That surprises me as I'm certain I saw something last year about how we wanted more away tickets but Barnsley limited us so we in turn limited then (will try to find when less tired and trying to kill time at work before the match)

Which makes me think our allocations at Barnsley are the same as what our upper tier holds

This was what I was remembering Zico: https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/23517431.barnsley-ceo-el-ahmad-bolton-wanderers-play-off-ticket-decision/

Seems to indicate Barnsley were the ones driving the low away ticket numbers last season, capped at 2k. Whereas this season it's definitely us, as noticed by the very specific number (coinciding with our upper tier capacity).

Annoying either way forcing empty seats and the EFL should be trying to sort it.

I would read that as we requested more but they said no, probably in response to us giving them the the upper tier only (in conjunction with that Yorkshire post article)

But it certainly didn't mean more Barnsley fans could go as he suggested

I think it's fair to say if we only give teams the upper tier they'll only give us the same number in return

It was a sad sight to see when the whole stadium was open but only 11,500 of us in the ground.

Away tickets are still available to buy today for Barnsley fans.

Did you go to Cheltenham (H) this season?
