Saves me wasting time looking at other Fred’s other than transfers.

If we lose today we'd have been well adrift of the playoffs. At that point, the whole thing is just spiralling. He's not getting sacked a day after we've had a £1m+ bid accepted for a player he wants. Even if he did, that's January wasted and the pool of candidates is shrinking by the week.

Ian's fucked it. Sharon's fucked it. I don't know what the answer is so I'll just take the wins.

He cannot be here next season though unless we're in the second tier.

Money wise. Best board of my life. Judgement wise. The worst.

20 years ago today Kevin Nolan scored an injury time winner away at Birmingham.

This was after a run of 10 games without a win, including 6 back to back defeats.  They won’t admit it but plenty then wanted Sam out. 3 points from 30.

We finished the season sixth and qualified for Europe.

Ohh, you are a tease.

I'm in - choo choo, steam train to the Championship. No point in doing this otherwise.

(Exeter is a solid boozing city btw 🙃)

Hes doimg the same as loads if keepers with that type of ball

Tbh, ny question is whats williams doing - he should be burying it

Are you actually saying youve not seen keepers stranded like that many times?

Its a great ball in, lampard made it an art form

Of course I've seen goals of that ilk.

Maybe I'm being harsh on him but after Williams misses it, it looks to me that there's time for him to adjust and push it away as it doesn't even need a dive to reach. Just move his left arm.

Anyway it kind of backs up what a lot of us have been saying. Put it in the mixer or have a shot and things can happen. Opposition players will make mistakes as they're league one players.

Rather than playing the football in our half where our league one players will make mistakes.

All good. No change here.

Great angle that.

That is quite terrible goal keeping.

What a stump.

The presence of two of ours looking to get on the end of it clearly puts the keeper in two minds.

The advantage of a quality delivery into the right area, coupled with players getting into positions to capitalise.

Reasonable.

He's staying until the end of the season and could still turn it around. He has turned things around in the past.

I'm not happy about that to be honest, and I very much doubt he will get us promoted.

But let's get behind the club in the meantime. Easier said when you're not forking out the hours getting to home and away games.

He may turn our form around (not convinced) but I simply can't see how that would be adequate to achieve promotion.

Others are so far ahead that it would take both a monumental run on our behalf, and those top teams all having a reasonably sized wobble.

Play-offs, who knows. Always a bit of a lottery.

We might turn our form enough to beat the dregs a bit more consistently to make the play offs, but can anyone see use changing our entire team's make up under Evatt to beat good teams in the pressure of the play offs?

Play offs; maybe.

Could do it on penalties!

Wouldn't hold my breath, but Oxford fans probably felt the same last time round.

If only!  Tends to be won by the best team and/or manager aside from the odd pen shoot out.

On another note, of the top 6 divisions that have play offs, 5 of last season's winning managers were sacked well before Christmas, the only one that's survived is at Bromley.

It does.

On the day therefore, either side could be the best. We felt that.

The subsequent sackings are an entirely different discussion.

When he first came to the club I thought he was a track suite manager. I may be wrong here but his role appears to have changed to almost a general manager. As if to say this is my philosophy now find me the players and coaches to implement it.

Maybe that is why a new coach was introduced and Evatt was not disposed of. If the club has improved financially within his reign then this maybe another reason why he remains in post.

One thing is for sure that we are not the team we were twelve months ago. The goal conceded yesterday was abysmal but the reactions of Forrester, Collins and Macatee after the final whistle made me think that there is a team in there somewhere.

Of course there’s a team in there I think we all believe that but something’s preventing them from performing and Evatt doesn’t seem to be able to identify what it is. I think a fresh face with new ideas could transform the team with just one or two additions but we know we’re not going to get that because Evatt’s staying. If he pulls a couple of rabbits out of the hat who knows but since I believe it’s his systems that are wrong not the players I just don’t see it happening again this year.

Puts me in mind of 'when you look around a room and can't spot who's the weirdo ... that's because it's you'.

No you ... Evatt. Don't be so sensitive.
