All my life i have seen crime committed by "not rights " families looked after and later , back on the road to do the same thing paid for by thee n me

WHY? Lets  f********* em all off and save us loads of brass

Trouble is the rest of the world heard about , and our benefits bill has grown a tad .

  • I'm wholly in favour of a benefit system, but those who claim they're actively seeking work but can't find it, should be given work to do for their benefits.

had a beer

Several beers

Couple of shorts too

If drinking a few beers compels you to go on unhinged angry rants, it might be time to reconsider your life choices.

Put them to work fixing potholes

Let's work this through.

What do we know about them?

a) They're unemployable. Therefore not able to earn a wage.

b) They're criminal. Therefore likely to commit crime to pay for housing/food etc in the absence of benefits.

c) You're suggesting we should remove their benefits to force them into work

d) Refer to a

And complete the circle.

And why some of us (usually on the left) think there should be some safety nets in between some of these letters. Training, opportunities, rehabilitation, education etc.

It doesn't always work - but it's better than the solution that Crawshaw is suggesting. Which seems to be kick them and their families out on the street and refer to a. And then act surprised when they inevitably return to b.

And I'm assuming they're British, so can't be "sent home" whatever that means?

Would suggest that he thinks foreigners are to blame?

Refer to c and reopen the workhouses

National service of a military or social nature.

Clear out rivers, cook school meals, remove graffiti, whatever.

Give them something to do, and maybe a sense of self worth they haven't previously had.

Sitting at home, doing nowt just adds to mental decay and a sense of worthlessness.

I agree. I'll file this under 'training, opportunities, rehabilitation and education' though.

Hope you're feeling OK tonight mate

Absolutely.

It shouldn't be viewed as punishment, but help getting folk feeling better about themselves.

An opportunity.

Ta.

Not brilliant, obviously. On edge etc.

More worried about my lad.

He's taking it really badly. Sense of guilt etc.

Oh heck. It's horrible mate. I was thinking about you earlier. And (I know this is probably the wrong time and small mercies) but at least it wasn't a really long, drawn out, painful ending. My dog was similar - absolutely fine one minute and the next thing we were handing her over to the vet. We couldn't even say our goodbyes as it was COVID and we weren't allowed in. It's brutal mate. Always here if you need a brew and a chat when you get home!

PS - this is why I settled on fish. It's not as heartwrenching when they go. Send me love to everyone 💪

It's always old blokes who were never subjected to National Service (and are now too old to do it) that want to bring it back. Funny that. 🤔

Cheers mate.

Of course a long drawn out thing would have been awful, but there was just no time to prepare ourselves neither.

When a dog gets old, you sort of get ready for it, and appreciate their life etc.

Poor bugger still had loads in him.

Yeah - I get that. The shock and no chance to prepare yourself eh? How old was he?

noticed this too..

Army will sort them out.. like we're trusting someone that can't pass GCSE's with a gun..

Had a sixth former tell me they were "over qualified" for McD's.. again, like they're trusting you with food safety when you can't pass maths..

Anyway, with the current "news" that so many young people are classed as "NEET", it comes as no surprise..

The amount of times I head "they should teach that in school", we do...

We're going to have a huge flux of unemployed as workplaces can't meet their needs, in a few years time too.. so it's only going to get worse!

Just encourage every kid you can to get a trade. AI can't lay bricks. Yet.
