This Russian warship..

Opened fire with "warning shots" towards British yacht.

British and French vessels responding together with a helicopter.

Russia typically given a bullshit reason for it, but this is a heck of an escalation.

The Admiral Grigorovich was in the English Channel sightseeing

If it does it again, then it's next mission should be sightseeing for wrecks on the bottom. 😀

Maybe they could take a few dinghies out If they're pissing around out there for a bit.

Alice Roberts on the TV in the corner of the room just said there are 40,000 shipwrecks around the British coast... 40,001 soon if those Ivans don't watch out

The boats in La Rochelle at the minute so it would take about 4 days to get back to the Solent.

This is clearly just some posturing by bored Russian sailors

An hour and a bit up the road from us.

If you ever sail it up the estuary to Bordeaux you'll pass our house.

Plan was to go to Bordeaux but the tidal changes are really dramatic down there and it’s a bit of a bastard on a spring tide, gets really choppy.

Might give it a go but will depend on timings.

Might be best if I don’t because if I head off to St Emilion I might never return 🍷

Just hope you don’t get a low pressure system combined with a spring tide. I’ll keep an eye out for you from the Bembridge Coast Guard station as you return to the Solent. 🫡

Not been to St Emilion yet (and don't do wine!) but Bordeaux is a fantastic city for a day or two stopover.

Some nice little ports on the way down too.

Don't do wine?

Shocker; such a huge variety, there's something for everyone.

Not sure about that.

KS will be looking at ways to give them the vote beforehand.

You must visit, I was "stranded" in St Emilion for a full week.. I remember wine cellars in tunnels deep into the escarpment with big steel doors as this was where the Resistance used to hide out.

Then there was the Bordeaux ring road ...

We will at some point. Our lass is keen to go there and Libourne for a nosey round. About an hour and a half away, so save it for a day we've nowt planned and fancy a bit of a drive.

Moving house is somewhat time consuming I will admit.

I did see the emphatic mullering for reform over the border last night.
