Guest Biff Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 just wondering.. how long is left on the morgage ? 17?? years was a 20yr mortgage Thanks everyone else for your contributions did you know if it is a repayment mortage and do the following add all the numbers between 1 and 30 together then add all the numbers between 1 and 240 together then divide first number by second and multiply the answer by 100 it will say what % of mortage has been repaid. this is the rule of 78ths. (or ring up lender and they will tell you) There's something missing here because you will get the same answer no matter whether you have paid 1 year, 10 year or 20 year mortgage.
Guest Biff Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 if i was him it would be worth 100k just to have you out and the house to my self You've got this wrong Henri. If you were him you would only offer ??9K. However if he were you then he would offer 100K to have zoe out of the house.

Luton Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 just wondering.. how long is left on the morgage ? 17?? years was a 20yr mortgage Thanks everyone else for your contributions In that case if it is a repayment mortgage the amount owed would be slightly less than 34k and if it is a interest only mortgage then you would be owed your half of the endowment policy (which should be in your name as you aren't married) In saying all that 15k sounds about right and dont accept a penny less girl
bwfczoe Posted July 8, 2005 Author Posted July 8, 2005 Cheers people WE owe about ??31,000 on mortgage now So I think I will stick to my guns and wait for 15k
mickbrown Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 The fact that his dad put 10k in has raised the equity in the house. Not really sure why you should benefit from the genorosity of his dad

Guest The Special One Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Is he soft this ex of yours?? He should boot you out and give you f??ck all. Women p??ss me right off, they think they are entitled to everything when the man has put everything into it.[/i]
mickbrown Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 That's what I'm saying - when you are working out the equity in the house the 7k deposit should be taken off before you start splitting the dosh. He'd have given it to his lad if he was shacking up with you or another girl.
Carlos Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Exactly, you could say that the 10k is his problem, you want half of everything, which is about 20k, hence 15k is reasonable. I think you've weakened your case by moving out myself.

He gets pissed off with me just being there And why should I not be entitled to half of it He has only put in what I have We would have got the house with deposit or not
mickbrown Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Because the deposit was your ex's -why should you get any of that. If I gave my lad 10 grand and his ex bird wanted half of it, I'd be well pissed off.
Guest The Special One Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 I'll bet you aint put in nowhere near as much as him Who pays the mortgage?
green genie Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Surprised you didn't get pregnant and have him booted out before living off half his earnings ad infinitum.

As you do with him I'll bet And why should I not be entitled to half of it. He probably doesn't think you are He has only put in what I have.
