I think the issue is getting players we can afford that would improve our squad / 1st 11 etc. rather than simply the releasing of any funds.

 

January is a sh??te time to buy unless you are gambling on someone who isn't getting a regular game or ABLE to pay big bucks...as Sam says, the first is harder than it's ever been as many clubs have followed our suit and with the improvement in our squad those little gems need to be potentially better than ever before for us to benefit. And the latter is just not possible...

I see there was no New Year's resolution to be optimistic this year then you cynical owd b??gger?

I can never understand fans from the dark days of the 80's, they followed us when we couldn't kick a ball straight................yet now we're one of the best teams in the country - they moan?

 

Lets sack Sam and then sell Jussi, Nolan, Diouf, Ben Haim, Davies, Vaz Te and Faye. And if we can force Speed & Bruno into retirement, then we can go back to being sh*t - at least then you'll all have something to moan about

 

As for signings - I don't imagine Allardyce is sat around doing nothing, he has a tight budget and has to bring players in who'll get into the team - which won't be easy. Especially when you consider that almost every other club in the PL have more money to spend than us.

Think that we spent most of our budget in the summer seeing as we paid ??4m for Diouf and ??1m for Borgetti. Plus there will have been fees involved for loaning Nakata and Faye.

 

Also you get f??ck all for getting to the carling cup quarter finals and the UEFA cup doesn't bring in that much money.

We also had to pay a transfer fee for Faye. ??1.4 million I believe.
