if sam did leave?

Featured Replies

if the worst came to the worst and sam left us for newcastle or england who do you think would be the leading contenders for the bolton job.

phil brown would have been the obvious choice if he hadnt have left ,he wouldnt have been my choice but i think he would have got it if sam had left last year, and now that all isnt going well at derby hes no chance.

i wouldnt blame sam if he did left as there isnt much more he can do to make us progress further apart from win a cup maybe.

brown left cos he had no chance of the bolton job

same with mcdonald

Phil Brown would NOT have got the job if Sam had left last year. He knew he didn't stand a chance of ever getting the job without some management experience.

EG - ITK, FACT, DSO (Bar)

u have to be quick on here someones always thinking the same thing as u

According to Phil Brown's former PA, Phil was told that in no uncertain terms that he had progressed as far as he was going to at the Reebok. This was when the Burnley job came up, long before the Derby vacancy, hence Brown's application to go to Burnley.

Sam wanted Ricky Sbragia and Sammy Lee in 12 months earlier than he got them.

You would sink like a stone, and go back down were you came from!

All aboard.......

:D/

Dowie would be the obvious choice for the board - Has he still got a house in Bolton? He has had some success with Palace and his Son supports us.

Megson was lined up last time Newcastle came knocking, but I think his credentials have slipped somewhat since then.

I expect an english manager who likes his teams to graft, similar to Sam........Peter Reid ](*,)

Dowie might be an option - but he failed to keep Palace up. He had the same resources and squad as we did when Sam brought us up - yet Sam kept us in there.

Paul Jewell could be an option - would piss on the pie eaters chips!

for me Mike Newell is the best manager in the championship

Hes done wonders for both Luton and Hartlepool

no need to shout

Yep sorry for that

My mistake

I think Dowie's record holds up to Newells personally. Alright he got relegated last season, but look where Palace were when he took over.

Newell had good foundations when he went there, although I do agree he has continued the good work left for him very weel and beyond expectations.

I agree i think we have to look into the championship for a manager

I carnt see anybody from the priemership coming into the top job

Charlie Wright... he'd be a good choice

If Sam did get the England job, there is only one person to take over at the Reebok and that is Eriksson. He would be able to get Beckham to come here as well. That is what Sheikh RattlenRoll told me anyway.

Steve Coppell

the most sensible thing you have said yet.

he did so wll at hartlepool he was sacked after 6 months

record nowt outstanding either

took over with em romping it at the top, and they finished second

Hartlepool have axed manager Mike Newell after just six months in charge.

The former Blackburn striker led Pools to promotion from Division 3 but he club decided not to renew his contract.

Newell, who was coaching at Blackpool before being appointed by the North East club, took over after Chris Turner left his table-topping team to move to Sheffield Wednesday.

He won 13 of his 29 games in charge, but Pools were overhauled at the top of the Third Division by eventual champions Rushden & Diamonds.

last time around, maybe newell is the calibre we'd be looking at

not any more

ps if people want to tout newell and dowie, why doesn't jewell get a mention

better record than either :-k
