They are not stopping anybody smoking - you can still smoke at home just as you can still dress up in stockings and put tangerines in your mouth, if you so wish.

You'll have those health warning notices on bars of chocolate next.

ID cards, and serial number tattoos on our foreheads will be mandatory for the next generation

The people who moan about second-hand smoke are the same fat f*ckers who sit on their arses all day eating chip butties.

Lads who have birds who smoke.

Everyone's a winner

I've been a passive smoker all my life, so I'm gonna die and it's not my fault you w ankers - you know who you are!

While you're incensed smiffs I'd like to cordially invite you to an afternoon out on Sunday where Leigh play rugby against Widnes. The only thing I ask is that you fetch your own fireworks.

Application for leave posted last weekend.

Industrial sized fireworks on way from China. :D

OI WIDNES, FANCY SEEING YOUR BOYS GET WHACKED?

sorry to go off topic...back to the original thread..... 8-[

'imbibed' nice word I like it.

Was thinking the exact same thing :D

But is there such a thing as passive cocaine taking? I mean each to their own, you can sniff away all night if you must, but the damage it can do to the ears when a channed up person is blathering away at you is far worse than a bit of second hand smoke. But the government seems to want to ban smoking in pubs yet let coke sniffing continue unchecked. That's just about the SP where I do my supping anyway.

i dont smoke but think an outright ban in pubs would be wrong. why not just have a smoking room like they do in restaurants.

the out come of the ban in ireland is that the pubs in the big cities are fine and doing fine, but its the small locals that have had to close down by people not bothering going any more.

oh yes and leave off the coke

Does prison count as a public place?

Prisons are exempt because they count as people's homes. Same for old folk's homes.

No prison counts as a person's residence and you will be allowed to smoke in your home.

Pah. As usual, it's one law for criminals and the decrepit and one for everyone else.

I don't understand what 'local pubs' are so arsed about, saying theyl have to shut due to lack of business. bull bags. Its not like their lossin out to competition is it ?

Its the same for every other business, big or small :-({|=

I still dont agree with it though :D

They are aready have or ready to do it

Hang about, what about schools? Is it banned on school grounds as well? If so, Westleigh High had better baton down the hatches when the cherubs there are informed.

It says it's banned in workplaces, so is it banned in works vans and if you're, say, a plumber in someone's house to work are you allowed to smoke there or is that up the discretion of the homeowner?

They haven't thought it through have they?

Perhaps the homeowner is allowed to smoke but the plumber won't be and will have to go and stand in the garden if he wants a fag.

Personal view - good, ban the stinking fcuking things. Brought in down here and, after an initial drop in business, the pubs are booming. The majority non-smokers now use them when many used to avoid.

The pubs in Dublin are actually busier now post-ban if that was ever possible.

SMOOKIN PUBS

NON SMOOKING PUBS

BIG SIGN ON FRONT DOOR

EASY

There will be no smoking allowed in a public place but smoking will be allowed outside. Does this mean that smoking will be allowed on an open terrace at a sports ground?
