Sadly, we could not get them to drop the price to the required level and we walked away. Hence why I???m still sat in the North Stand Lower Tier with the fat gorilla???s that keep trying to get chants going.

 

During a rare lull in my busy life I got to thinking about the future of the Reebok and how it will be effected by the current trend of less and less season ticket holders and ultimately less paying customers. Do we really want to go back to the days of 12000 attendances and huge empty spaces? Of course not, so the only way is to ditch the seats and make the ground one big corporate box.

 

Oh she???s winding us up again you???ll no doubt declare but instead of throwing insults my way why not think about it for a minute. I suspect the majority of Bolton fans don???t spend anything inside the Reebok on matchday other than the price of a ticket. They probably drink in local pubs before and after the match before going home for tea.

 

But what if the only option at BWFC was to buy a corporate package? No longer could you just buy a ticket and then feck off home at 5 o???clock. No, to watch Bolton you would have to purchase a package which would consist of a matchday ticket, programme, light lunch before the game and a main meal after the game. The cost would be ??120 per person. Not only would BWFC be guaranteed ??120 for every single fan, the fact they would be in the Reebok for at least 4 hours would guarantee them huge revenue at the bar and in the club shop. They could even open up a casino or nightclub to keep people in the place ??? the potential is endless.

 

Matchday would become a great experience. No more cold weather, no more rain in your face, no more having to listen to dreary chanting, no more disgusting language, no more abuse, no more poor people wearing Burberry. Just sophisticated people like me wanting to have a good time under one roof.

 

You can mock, but one day this will be the future. And I can???t wait.

At Croke Park (Dublin) they have different grades of corporate facilities available ie big multi nationals like Guiness have a huge box that costs an absolute fortune! but smaller local companies can still have a box all be it much smaller and not as flash!

According to the fella i spoke to at Croke Park when i had a nosy round thats where their money comes from to pay for the multi million redevelopments that have gone on!

not sure how these facilities would fit in the reebok. but the theories the same!

 

Ideally i'd love a 40k half stading and seating stadium packed with passionate wanderers supporters roaring the team home! but as can be seen already corporate facilities is what brings the money in!

Given the choice of ??120 per game or no BWFC the majority of the hardcore will opt to pay.

 

Without the riff-raff and hooligans at the game the richer element of Bolton and surrounding areas will flock to the Reebok, replacing the fans that can???t afford the new rates.

Perhaps they should have tiny windows at various points round the stadium so the poor people can get a hint of what they are missing out on and maybe they will realise they are just lowlife and either top themselves or disown their families and try to start a new identity.

 

Or maybe the poor/common people should just be shot so they don't clutter up the streets with their grubby presence.
