Cheers Hugesy

You've just depressed me even more that I didn't go to that game (sold my ticket to a mate cos I was skint)

I can only imagine when Walker hit the third...I know I was going ballistic listening to the radio never mind being behind the goal...

class =D> =D> was a tremendous night, should have been 4-1 really

who ever did the jay jay tribute deserves a medal, brought back some brilliant memories

Was a truly great night. One i personally will never forget.

BUT. Football has changed a lot since then and now any team with a 400 mile riund trip midweek would struggle to take a thousand.

Sad but true.

nope, many would, spurs, newcastle, utd, everton, liverpool.........even little clubs on a big day out, as this gae was would as well. Its the middle rank teams who have been to these places many times who would stay at home and watch it on telly

aye

many of us probably thought it was the only chance we'd get to see highbury again

still impressive to muster those numbers in a week though

club like bristol city would do it even now

Not many clubs though.

As i said the culture of away travel in the Uk has changed.

The game would be either on Sky or BBC now for starters. That would stop half travelling.

"McGinlay, the cuo hero that they can't contain" - I love that line! Remember coming back in the car and getting excited every half hour when they mentioned it and us on radio 5. How times change - too true...

Well, we're not going to Highbury again...

Not many clubs though.

I agree with the miserable c??nt, not many clubs would take a following like that nowadays.

Quality, shivvers down spine stuff. there are some other good clips listed on there too, battle of turf moor being one!

Loads would, it was a one off game. You get your 2 game a seasoners going.

Even I went that 3-1 game!

What a night. Andy Walker's comeback game as well. Brilliant. Tony Kelly robbed of a cracking free kick.

Also the reason why I fail to appear in the Deane School 5th year school photo which was taken the day after.

Remember getting and giving loads of sh*t to some suited up cockney city boy who was in the executive boxes behind the stand where the Bolton fans were sat. He was waving a wad of cash in the style of Harry Enfield and Loadsamoney. Presumably trying to make out that Northerners have no money (yawn). Didn't see anything of him after we went in front.

Good times in a golden period for being a Wanderers fan. Or am I just getting old?

My mate and I went to London early that day and were in soho... whilst I was drinking he cleaned out a local ladbrokes... he won so much they couldn't pay him out and gave us a taxi to a bigger branch. He never told me how much he won but he bought me my supper in planet hollywood. He was a tight fecker so it must have been a bit!

Had to be Scot or a Yorkshireman then eh, Jazza? My money would be on the Yorkie.

Aye what a neet!

Went with the Howcroft on a coach, met about 6.30 am and the beer was flowing, stocked up with plenty of cans for the journey, then stopped off at St Albans for a few hours on the lash.Outside Highbury we were singing - " We're so pissed it's unbelievable" A cockney policewoman stopped us and said " Have you lads been drinking?" We reply - "Well we met at 6.30am,it's now 7pm. What do you think?"

"Ok,get in and behave" she says. Top day out,i just can't remember much about the game unfortunately :drinks:
