Fortune

Not a bad player, people saying give him a run of games to get fit and stuff. No chance this lad will get a run of games!

Injured again...

"South African international Quinton Fortune is set to miss the United test after breaking down in training on Tuesday complaining of a calf problem. Fortune, who joined the Wanderers this summer, will be gutted missing out against his former employers where he spent seven years at Old Trafford."

He's a replacement for Paul Warhurst ie we need somebody to keep the physio happy every week.

What a waste of time and effort, the geezer is a red raggy crock. terminate his contract now.

fergie told him to feign injury......red cock

Did we sign him on a two year deal, or just a 12 month deal?

Pretty sure it was only twelve months, may have been less?

That would have been the sensible thing to do, especially with his injury history.

This is what comes of starting a season with only one full-back (Hunt) and two wing-backs (Fortune & Gardner) - all of them injury prone. So Sam ends up with a constant shuffling of his back-four and various stand-in full-backs. Or do we all now accept Ped as a left-back ???

Let's hope Faye can play on Saturday.

<_<

to be fair I'm sure he did try to bring in other full backs (Sorin for one) but didn't manage to. I would expect/hope for this situation to change in January..............especially if we are still flying high in the league

I'm sort of with Krusty on this, we should never have signed him his injury record was a joke and carries on, money down the drain

hes on a 1 year deal with an option there that we can extend it another year

however we wont as so far he is the new paul warhurst

good point, we are totally doomed.

:nea:

If we hadn't have signed Fortune who would have played left back versus Spurs on the first game of the season and lept Lennon quiet?

A loss there and the start to the season could have been so different.

1 fairly dodgy game and an injury and everyone's on Fortune's back. He was signed KNOWING about the injuries. He's a utility player - can play LB, LM and CM...

Well I suppose the Bolton whinging brigade need something to moan about...get a grip you bunch of misgiuded c??cks.

THE END IS NIGH

ditto

through the first three home games - please don't tell me he missed one of em - he was probably our best player

dont think anybody is whinging, but you always have to look for area's to improve.

and fullback imo is an area which needs strengthening...

Is the fact we signed him "KNOWING about the injuries" some sort of defence? It doesn't seem that clever to me.

And utility players can only play when they're fit. Half the time he isn't.

He's done alright in the games he's played, but we already had about three dozen injury-prone full backs - I'm not entirely convinced we needed another.

It's not a defence it's a fact. It also probably justifies why Man Utd were selling him - many Man U fans have commented that without the injuries he'd be a mainstay in their side...do you think we'd have a cat in hell's chance of buying him if he was?

Do you think that just maybe Allardyce may have bought him with it in mind that he probably wouldn't play half the games?

A good utility man for half the season is better than not having one surely? I don't believe that signing Fortune hindered us signing anyone else so it's better than nowt.

when allardyce signed him, he said he expected him to play 20 games.

when allardyce signed him, he said he expected him to play 20 games.

And so far I think he's started 4 and come on as sub once....not bad.

He's a utility player who's rarely fit, never wanted us to sign him his injury record speaks for itself and that should have kept us away.

I'll repeat this for the idiot who obviously can't read:

So why should we have stayed away? You want to subtract from an already very small squad? (where's the w??nker smiley?)

(where's the w??nker smiley?)

A tad harsh, JD, but fair.

It was harsh, but I'm fed up with the Bolton moaners. Particularly when you look at where we are!

I meant it was harsh calling Smiley a w??nker! :D
