I think Man U at home is the only game you can get away with the A+ ticket prices but the rest need to be reduced, we will get poor crowds against Wigan and City unless they are reduced

If you cut all prices by approx. ??13 (which is what your figures seem to suggest), there will be a shortfall of ??312,000 per game and only 4,000 seats to fill. Now even if all the 4,000 seats were sold at ??25, the club is still ??212,000 down on revenue.

 

This would create a ??4m deficit per season: money that couldn't be spent on players etc. Thus creating more discontent.

My life doesn't revolve around football, and at the prices they're charging - I'd sooner go out on the p??ss & watch it in the pub. It's a crying shame that most football chairmen/managers aren't made aware of this.

 

They still think we're in the f??cking 1970's, where young lads lives revolved around their clubs & they can afford to go watching them home & away - even when it's on the b??stard telly.

I was offered a ticket yesterday NOT FREE before you start, I think he said 40 quid...I know I said fcuk Off.

As long as Bolton have crowds above or around 20,000 the bean counters will produce the facts, as Traf has.

 

 

The odd promotional gimic here and there to boost crowds but reductions across the board for most games will never be seen.

RSA - using your predictions, 18,338 at an average of ??30 per ticket equals the same revenue as 28,000 at ??20 per ticket.

 

Going back to the point made by Traf - Bolton would have to sell out every home game at the lower ticket price to generate the same income as current prices from your figure of 18,338.

we have child, student/snr citizen, and adult prices

 

i'd expect you'd get the full season that you turned 17 at the child price, but cant find it on the site anywhere

 

we also have family tickets (1+1) available for cat a matches at 44 quid

 

26 for the cheapest games - no doubt even this is too expensive

everything you say is true traf, to counter your argument i will point to the new sky deal, this is worth much more than ever before, also the club budget wages on a bottom 6 finish and have done since we have been in the premier league, we usulally finish top 8 thus creating a surplus of cash, i think it is ??500,000 per place so the 4 million shortfall could be bridged quite easily, this money should be used to reduce the adult prices and drastically reduce the childrens prices, not just to season ticket holders but also to the casual fan, another factor in the smaller attendances is that you cannot pay at the turnstiles, this situation needs looking into, the ticket office prior to the game is a joke, there has to be cash turnstiles introduced.

Both sides of this debate are valid arguments - and the answer as ever no doubt lies somewhere in between.

 

So given that the club must try to compete financially as best as it can with better supported clubs, but continue to grow its own fanbase (the only way the club can compete long term) what price both for ST's and pay on the day do people propose for next season?

 

Lets assume we are in Europe one way or another.

 

1.) I would say freeze ST's but include all home cup games (including Euro ones).

 

2.) Introduce a young persons ST i.e. 16-21, rather than the student one.

 

3.) Improve the membership card scheme, so it also includes reduced prices for cup games, and market it.

 

4.) Freeze admission prices, but include more Blackburn type incentives for specific games, given that ST holders will be getting far greater benefit for their initial outlay.

 

This gives the club the chance to play it as they see it with the incentives, hopefully better value ST's and Membership will mean more ST and Membership holders, giving the club good up front revenue.

 

Bigger attendances at cup games will help the team.

 

And the incentives would make certain games a good, reasonably priced day out for the occasional supporter, who then would be more inclined to make it a reqular event.

If we charge high prices then Bolton folk cannot afford it.

If fans cannot afford it attendances will drop.

If fans aren't in the habit of coming attendances will drop further.

If there is an half empty stadium the atmosphre will be crap

If the atmosphere is crap managers, players and supporters aren't happy.

If managers, players and supporters aren't happy they leave/stop going.

If managers and players leave, we slip down the league.

If we slip down the league, our crowds will shrink and our revenue will drop.
