Mounts Kipper Posted November 9, 2006 Share Posted November 9, 2006 Anelka, will come good sooner or later, firstly we are not playing to his strengths i.e. we need a playmaker 2nd how long is it since johnson scored? 3rd johnson has scored 6 goals in the prem 2 of them very dubiously given in my opinion, lastly shevchenko has taken a good few games to settle in and is now just begining to find his scoring feet, i think anelka will do the business and in my opinion is a better player than johnson will ever be, the only doubt in the back of my mind is will he show his true form or will Le sulk strike again. He may have still gone for AJ, but I doubt it as from his comments, he wanted to go for someone with more top-level experience, which Anelka has. That said, I think AJ is a fine player and I'd have loved to have seen him in a white shirt. Like it says, we now have Anelka and need to make the most of him. Pablo, Anelka plays for France, the world cup finalists...Johnson is not even England quality without Owen available. Don't even think about their club histories, the difference in class is mind boggling. They cost a similar amount because Johnson attracts an English 'premium'. You should know better than to be gloating after a handful of games, we all knew Anelka would take time to settle and our side would have to find a way to incorporate him. Time will tell, maybe Johnson would've suited us better, but if we find a way to get the best from Anelka he'll give us ten times more than Johnson ever could offer.
