Early buzzcoks was ace but it became a bad parody of it's self over time!

I always thought Buzzcocks was quality.

 

Liked Lammarr and was worried when that chutney ferret took over.

 

However, he's funny too.

Had the pleasure of meeting him once at a Billy Bragg gig, he was DJing and played loads of SKA. Can't say I was that impressed but by god he's huuuuuuuuge in real life.

I've got my Buzzcocks ticket for the 1st Dec. I went watching them at the Academy last year they were very very very very very very good, but not as good as they were at Silverwell St. Sports Centre in 1978.

p.s. Buzzcocks piss all over Stranglers

Saw them in Perth again a few months back. Superb live. Shelleys now a fat little git but Steve Diggles energy is amazing. Don't know what he's on but it must be good fooking stuff.

hey! btw Mr. Two Hats I have got somethimg for you if you want it...I have got a Stranglers CD "And then there were three" performed at London Rainbow theatre 4th April 1980, protest concert during Hugh's imprisonement with many guests in Hugh's role.

In fact I have got 2 of them which is why I will give you the other.

Phil Jupitus is touring with the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band at the moment. Off to see them at the Apollo on Wednesday. Probably be the youngest one there. - Apart from my son of course!

I knew i'd seen Joy Division at Blackburn supporting someone, and i THOUGHT it was the Buzzcocks. TBH i can still remember the moody and atmospheric Ian Curtis,but can't remember fcuk all about Pete Shelley that night. But saw the Buzzcocks on many occasions back then - and they were superb

I remember once they walked off stage at Blackburn cos everyone was spitting at them,they didn't come back on either

I remember watching Joy Division supporting Buzzcocks but it wasn't at King Georges Hall, must have been the same Tour though. My memory is a bit hazy but I seem to remember the lead singer of Joy Division committed suicide about two or three weeks later. Somebody must know the year that this happened. I've slept since then it is a long time ago.

Reet,after a bit of googling -

 

Joy Division played at the Factory Manchester on the 10th April 1980.(The last North West Gig with Curtis,maybe the one you did Zoz ?)

 

Curtis's last live appearance with Joy Division was 2 May 1980 in Birmingham.

 

Ian Curtis hung himself 18th May 1980.
