November 15, 200619 yr i would not like to split the 2 but we never saw tomo in his peak, so for me worthy.
November 15, 200619 yr Never saw Peter but if he was owt like his brothers Chris, Steve and Alan - he must have been shite! Worthy for me.
November 15, 200619 yr For me it is Peter Thompson. I first saw him when he played for Preston and thought he was great then. He was unlucky in that his time coincided with England playing without wingers otherwise he would have had far more international caps. Worthy was a great player as well but skillwise he was behind Thompson and yes I do remember the goal he scored against Ipswich.
November 15, 200619 yr thompson was close to okocha in terms of skill he didn't have the speed that okocha used to use to such good effect, so if anything had to have even more tricks - the one where he ran into the full back to get a free kick without fail was excellent and all for 20 thou but we did only see him in the second division worthy won the golden boot in struggling team theyre as difficult to split as youri and jayjay

He and Tonny Dunne where for me the classiest players I saw at Bolton until Djorkaeff, JJ and Hierro came along recently. Possibly because they were playing with Bolton in our lower division days that their class shone out more - but for me its Thompson. Edited November 15, 200619 yr by Sluffy
November 15, 200619 yr Thomo is one of my favourite players of all time ever ever. The skill he produced on the wing was mind boggling, he often beat the full back and turned back and beat him again while the forwards were getting into the box. His crosses were top class as well. He was supposed to be have been an even better player when he played for Liverpool, that would have been something special. That type of player that can beat his man with ease only comes round once in a while.
November 16, 200619 yr Have to be on the fence on this one. Both brilliant. If forced to choose would probably edge The Fonz's way just because of goalscoring / match winning ability. Thommo was bloody brilliant though.
November 16, 200619 yr Both were great, but Byrom and Sir Nat were better. (And, yes, I did see Nat play).

Driving a Warbys bread van for extra dosh. A true genius and one of the greatest entertainers we ever had. Could we ever see the like again? Naaaaah. There's a player in our team, and he is a goal machine, and his name is John Byrom, John Byrom, John Byrom, John Byrom, Byrom, Byrom, John Byrom, Byrom. BWFC Legend.
2 fantastic players - But Worthy for me.
