Ricketts

Talking to a couple of Preston fans who seem to think Ricketts is looking as fit and fast as ever before!! Hard to believe i know, but what if? If given the chance and Ricketts is indeed looking well would you give him another chance?

I myself am in two minds, thought he did alot for us when he was on form but his attitude let both him and us down whats to stop him doing it again?

He'd have to do it over a season, 20 goals etc. I don't think that the Preston fans saw him at his best so they aren't in a position to really make that comparison.

With his attitude it would have to be a big 'No'.

The guy wanted bigger and better things and he got it..............................at Southend

I'm sure he regrets leaving Bolton now but it's not often that players returning to their former clubs do well. There are exceptions as always, but plenty have a bad taste in the mouth over this exit from the Reebok.

We've proven ourselves as an excellent breeding ground for those that others have considered damaged goods.

I'd have Ricketts back no problem, if he could prove he was good enough.

Only on a pay as you play basis ......... and unfortunately I don't think he'd get paid very much as a result

I've said it before. Had Ricketts left on better terms, I have no doubt that Big Sam may have already attempted to resurrect his career.

george you would swap Kev Davies for Ricketts ? you are losing it mate

nail on head, george

as good as owt i've seen up front for the whites

Anybody who would consider parting with Kevin Davies is a staple short of a full programme.

You should never take players back.

You should never take players who are black.

Everton fans - scum of the earth

Awww, did you get bummed by one in jail ???

:yahoo:

You probably saw us win 1-0 at Old Trafford in 2002/03 ?

Ricketts was superb that night in the lone striker role chasing lost causes but with the pace that Kev doesnt have.

Ricketts on that form was worth a place in the England squad.I think only Anelka has more natural talent than him of all the strikers we have had in recent times.

If he wouldnt try there'd be no point having him though.

One game, five years ago

Davies has done 4 years hard graft, week in week out...and we all see the results when he is out

You must be crackers

Anyway, there's not a cat in hells chance he could ever be the player he was, nobody recaptures their youth, why should big fat Ricketts be the exception to the rule?

You should never take players back.

Or managers.

Exactly, our Club is an example of what NOT to do!

He thought he was bigger than OUR club

No thanks u red ginger

One game!!! I assume you didn't go to any of the others then!!?? Yes he 'turned out' to be a w*nker but he scored some top notch goals (in fact I would go as far to say, the majority of his goals were of top class).

Would I have him back - may be!

It's quite bizarre, some of our lot would have him back yet I doubt if any of the clubs he's subsequently played for would? I suspect none as they all showed him the door. If Southend wouldn't have him, I'm not quite sure why we would.

Because we have witnessed 1st hand what he can do when he's fit and motivated.

They haven't. THere was alot of stigma attached to him after the England game too.

As I've said, I'd have him (or anybody) so long as they're good enough.

if he scored 20 goals from now until the end of the season and mid-season asked sam for another chance, saying he would play for free and guarentee 30 goals then of course you'd take him back.

fact is he wont, so end of story.

Of course you would take him back on those terms, if Nat Lofthouse claimed to be back to his best I'd do the same for him. Neither are going to happen.
