What exactly will sammy lee as our new manager change??

How much money will he get for one? and who will want to play for him??

I think he needs a big summer clearout with the likes of pedersen, stelios and tompson out (no oofence meant to any of them)

and replaced with younger players who can take bwfc to the next level,

I dont think with the team we have now sammy can do much with the way we play as everyoe knows there position in our 433/451 formation.

could we play 442 with davies and anelka up front? or do we still need 5 in midfield and a defensive stoppe like campo/faye?? these are the questions bubbling around m head at this moment??

peolpe say we need new players in (indeed i said it myself) buty who exactly is sammy going to bring in?????

any answers are welcome!!

there u go mate any?? i apoligise for the spelling was just ranting and get carried away sometimes

we are not all that illiterate from Wigan b t w.

your right in what you say we do need to get rid of some of the 'squad players'

in my opinion, we aren't going to any mythical next level

with BSA or little sam

its not happening

Sorry but your spelling is a disgrace..........FFS

Anyhow, before we start getting rid of the likes of Stelios, Henrik & Thompson we need to get better players in. Sammy will have a very tough job getting in the numbers he needs for next season I predict. But it would be foolish to cut free the little bit of a squad we do have before having better players in their places. Look at our squad and its scary how thin it is.

Plus we need more bodies in general next season, especially so if we are in the UEFA. I'm sure that Stelios and Thompson could do a job for us in the Uefa and Cup competions. Although i do believe its right that Ped is shown the door.

what we need is to sign some players rather than clear out.

We need, a new centre half assuming TBH goes.

We need some guile and legs in midfield.

and fullbacks or at least cover in both positions.

formation ? depends on who we get in, but not sure why would change given current position.

the big desicion i think he has to make is do we try and build a team arounf anelka ?

we have seen in glimpses what he can do but could we get more out of him on a regular basis, you can see his frustration at times. (this assumes he stays...)

Very true. Sustaining is the word......

We aren't going any further than we are now without some oli rich Sheikh waving his magic wand.

Bollocks.

The "next level" for us would be to win something, and while the FA Cup, the League Cup and the UEFA Cup aren't quite as attainable as they were a few years ago, they are still all realistic targets for a top eight side.

AND it wouldn't have been a massive stretch for us to have finished fourth this season and last.

phew, thats a relief, wouldnt want to hurt their feelings.

A cup win would be great and you are correct that that is within our grasp. However the top 4 is miles away realistically. Arsenal have been poor this season in terms of picking up points. But IMO taking us to the next level means moving forward and continuing to make further progress. I don't believe it is possible for BWFC year on year to achieve more than we already have. If we got a Top 4 place this season or last, it wouldn't have been expected and in reality we aren't capable of sustaining that kind of finish.

Now a top 8 finish and the odd cup run (and final win) would be the sort of level that we could at best expect to achieve, given our financial situation. I see this as sustianing our current success, and firmly we can't move on another level as Cas said.

all we must do is go further in cup comps and exceed the previous years points tally, that to me is progress...

Out:

Stelios

Pedersen

Thompson

Fortune (if he hasn't already gone)

Vaz Te

Walker

Speed (much less of a playing role I'd guess next year)

Cesar

Campo (think he could do a job but think he will leave out of choice

T.B.H

In:

Cid

Swiss player (forget his name)

2 young competitive midfielders

Striker (camara from wigan has been mentioned or kamara from wba maybe)

2 defenders

Much change I think, maybe more required to come in

maybe more required to come in

You think???

Thats 10 out and 7 in. Four of which you don't know who they should be. We need at least 3 or 4 more players in the squad next season than we currently have now. That would mean another 7 needed on the ones you already mentioned......

A lot of work to do if Sammy followed your suggestion. Thats why i'd be surprised if the likes of Stelios, Campo, Vaz Te & Thompson left before we had better players in their places.

So 10 out 7 in , Swiss played fucked already so only really 6 in we are really going to short if that happens

I could start saying a few names mate but I'm not the manager so that's a pointless exercise. Just trying to point out where our current squad lies and what's required.

Know I mentioned 10 out and 7 in. That's why I said maybe more. Bare in mind L'il Sam might want to bring in some of the youngsters (Fojut, Sinclair, Joann Smith etc)

I agree, people keep papping on about "the next level", wll I'm not sure it'll ever really get much better than finishing in the top 6, unless there is a mega cash injection from somewhere

Agree also, there isn't a further level for us IMO. I would be happy to continue to push for Europe, to push for the top 4 is a distant dream and hopes of a cup final would mainly rely on a little luck I guess.

We have more hope in the cup rather than making a new league level

Waking up from this dream is the next step.

4 consecutive top 8 finishes is a major over-achievement for us.

I will be more than happy with mid-table in The Prem.

Plus promote Al Habsi to the bench, to replace Walker.

I'd prefer to keep Stelios. And could Vaz Te perform any better in a differing formation/tactics?

I also agree on building a team around Anelka. We need to supply him with meaningful ammunition - not long, aimless, high punts that he can do very little with.

Yes Al Habsi will be made 2nd choice keeper I think. If we are struggling with finances / time to bring in a lot of players Vaz Te and Stelios should remain.

Let's hope Anelka is prepared to stay. Remember the Euro Qualifiers are at the end of the season, usually likes to shout his mouth off for a week

Anyone know whats happening with Joey O'Brien? Having him back would be a major boost (assuming he can stay fit and be anywhere near like the form he was in before the injury) and effectively like gaining another player...

He's had set backs with his injury, last I heard he would be back for pre-season

OK then maybe not a clear out as such, but everyone knows we need to bring players in.

We need:

1 left back

1 right back

2 midfielders

1 striker

any ideas??

I think Vaz Ta need to play more however as I am not the manager I am not sure of the position he should play.

I like the way we play at the moment, I just think we could get more out off some of the players if we had a different set up

e.g Anelka (Presuming he doesn't leave) & Nolan (as he has not played to well this season).

any ideas on formation changes sammy may make??
