Parker To Whu...

Selling your captain to a relegation rival, is this the continuation of Fat Sam's Newcastle clear out:

and it looks like Fat Sam is recruiting nutters to sort out the dressing room for him:

New Newcastle manager Allardyce is believed to be eyeing out-of-favour Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton as a potential replacement.

He clearly rates Nolan as well, wonder if he would try and sign him as a possible replacement?!?

I am happy if it goes through. Especially if we can recoup the money by getting shot of NRC.

What's the score with Nolan? As an outsider he didn't play as well this season as he has done previously?

its a funny one selling scotty, most of our fans are buzzing because he annoyed the hell out of the with his pirouettes every time he got the ball, but he is a top pro parker and always gave his all.

?7m is a good deal for us though, its the first time we have made a profit on a player in years, and most fans are glad to see him go.

it will be interesting to see if big sam goes for nolan, but the consensus on here seems to think that he was poor last year? i think its the same sort of myth as parker for us, other fans think they are quality due to past seasons performances?

He just isn't very good. In previous years he's been used almost as an auxiliary striker and, to be fair to him, he has an eye for goal and was very effective in that position. This season, our, ahem, wealth of attacking talent has meant he has been employed in a more orthodox midfield role, and the shortcomings that have always been there (lack of pace/mobility, inability to head/tackle/pass) have been more starkly exposed.

You can have him if you want.

Interesting. I've always thought he lacked pace, but then Sir Robert had none, so I can look passed that!

I'm not sure we need another central midfielder now thanks. You can have NRC if you want though!

Bolton fans would slag off Nat Lofthouse if he was still wearing the white shirt.

Nolan has been sh?te this year, but all players go through bad patches & he's no different. I think we'd be f?cking stupid to sell him.

Maybe Reo Coker heading up to the north east? he's listed and BSA has followed him before apparently

Looks like we'll not be stepping up to many plates until the likes of West Ham Newcastle Villa Spurs have all been fed (not to mention the top 4)

Ah well, such is life.

Spot on. bwfc fans love slagging off the club, weather its players, managers, stadium, ticket prices. Why bother supporting the club at all??

Having read the odd posts on Newcastle forums regarding Parker, the consensus is that he's been disappointing ever since he got glandular fever, he can only pass sideways, he's been given stick by supporters etc.

I've read a few of them slating his season in general, yet they all seem keen on Nolan.

Of course, we've heard from those East End mugs slating Reo-Coker, and there's also been Nolans' dsappointing season, I wonder if City feel the same way about Barton being an overrated England team outsider? (without taking into account his mental factor)

or maybe some fans have nt got a clue ??

people slate nolan and he has had a poor season but we do look a better team when he is there than when he is nt. might be because the replacements are so poor.

it is a miracle that we actually did nt get relegated when i think about it....

scott parker is a fookin cracking player, the type you build a side around!

This time last year Nolan, Reo-Coker and Barton were all being linked with massive money moves to the top clubs and their current clubs fans were saying they would only let them go if stupid money was paid.

One fairly poor season each (add in Barton being a flaming mentalist) and now they're not good enough for their current clubs fans!

If their next season is as good as 05/06 then they'll be back being linked with the top clubs yet again.

Who says football isn't a fickle game!

It's not really his ability that's being questioned though. It's his attitude/ego/application that has been the problem. Besides, if/when Parker is made official NRC will be surplus to requirements anyway.

From watching him for the last 2 years I can tell you he certainly isn't.

Nicky Butt is the far superior player out of the two.

Nolan has had a bad season by his standards but we have to give him 1 more season I think we owe him that at least, and by the way every time Nolan has come up against Barton Nolan has had him in his back pocket.

I think you are probably right. Although, I would add Everton, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Man City to that list.
