June 8, 200719 yr the lazy dingle has withdrawn from the u21 squad , because he is tired ! he should never play for england again ! its an honour to play for your country and the lazy dingle tosser should realise this
June 8, 200719 yr That boy has serious delusions of grandeur................U21's is probably beneath him now
June 8, 200719 yr im with stope on this one if any player refuses to play for their country either at u21 or senior level without a valid excuse then that player shouldnt be available for selection again imo
June 8, 200719 yr He has one of those shitey beards like the 3 Muskateers....nuff said! I think you are being unfair to criticise David Bentley's facial hair. No-one on here has a go at yours.
June 8, 200719 yr the lazy dingle has withdrawn from the u21 squad , because he is tired ! he should never play for england again ! its an honour to play for your country and the lazy dingle tosser should realise this Agreed. One word, Chris Sutton!
June 8, 200719 yr surely two............... Heard Psycho on R5Live earlier saying he'd had a conversation with Mark Hughes 24 hours prior to Bentley's call - requesting he be allowed to withdraw. Of all the managers in the EPL, with the possible exception of Lawrie Sanchez, he should know better than most the frustrations this sort of withdrawal from a squad and it's timing can cause to an internatonal manager and the damage it can do to a player's international prospects.
June 9, 200719 yr Bentley is a disgrace,How can he ever be called up for the England senior squad when he is tired now,World cups and euro champs games are always after the season has finished.
June 9, 200719 yr If he were a Bolton player, you lot would be berating U21 games at this time of year. Blackburn start their Intertoto campaign at the start of July, so the lad needs a break .
June 9, 200719 yr If he were a Bolton player, you lot would be berating U21 games at this time of year. Blackburn start their Intertoto campaign at the start of July, so the lad needs a break . break? my arse...
June 9, 200719 yr If he were a Bolton player, you lot would be berating U21 games at this time of year. Blackburn start their Intertoto campaign at the start of July, so the lad needs a break . well hes not bolton, sod the 6 fingerd inbred,
June 9, 200719 yr bentley is a fcuking disgrace to football .thanks to the inbread tvat we are a man short .you can only bring in another player if the squad player is ill ,so that inbread six fingered cumt might cost england the trophy .
June 10, 200719 yr If he were a Bolton player, you lot would be berating U21 games at this time of year. Blackburn start their Intertoto campaign at the start of July, so the lad needs a break . Bollox! Basically Bentley is saying that the U21 are below him. If it was the World Cup he wouldn't be wanting a rest.
June 10, 200719 yr The guy should never be picked for his country again. A ragging disgrace. What would people have been saying last summer if all the England squad pulled out cos they were tired? Thinking about my last comment we may have done better.
June 10, 200719 yr He could have done a Ryan Giggs and pulled out with an injury, there so much bullsh*t in football you have to admire his honesty.
June 10, 200719 yr This is Mark Hughes' work, so in that respect I feel sorry for Bentley. Still, only way to stop this tomfoolery is tell the c?nt he won't be picked again at any level, he can then decide whether to tell Hughes to f?ck off or not.
June 11, 200719 yr Delighted to see that everyone recognises that a players first loyalty is to his national side rather than the club who pays his wages. So naturally no-one on here will moan when Diouf, Faye, Meite etc. fook off in January for a month to play in the African Nations Cup? Or is that different?
June 11, 200719 yr But thats a kickabout in the jungle This is about playing for England, and not being fit enough at 21 to do so. Edited June 11, 200719 yr by Smiffs
June 11, 200719 yr But thats a kickabout in the jungle This is about playing for England, and not being fit enough at 21 to do so. How is playing for England if you're English different from playing for Senegal if you're Senegalese? Anyway, it's the England under 21's, who nobody on here would normally give a stuff about.
June 11, 200719 yr How is playing for England if you're English different from playing for Senegal if you're Senegalese? This is out of season though so of course it is different.
June 11, 200719 yr This is out of season though so of course it is different. So if Wayne Rooney ducks out of a vital Euro qualifier against Russia on a freezing Wednesday night in Moscow in November, yet is miraculously fit to play for the rags on the Saturday, that would be OK then?
June 11, 200719 yr So if Wayne Rooney ducks out of a vital Euro qualifier against Russia on a freezing Wednesday night in Moscow in November, yet is miraculously fit to play for the rags on the Saturday, that would be OK then? no, it would not be ok, IF it happened speculate all you like on what might happen, we're talking about what has happened also the point you make is different to what's going on Bentley has played just as many games as most of the U21's squad but has pulled out, not because of injury, but because he's tired he also did it on the eve of the tournament leaving Pearce no time to find a replacement, he also thinks he has more chance of getting in the england full squad, well, not if you pull out of squads at the last minute i personally don't care about the U21s, but it's clear to see Bentley has acted like a tw*t because if was knackered he should've said something the day the season ended
June 11, 200719 yr .... when Diouf, Faye, Meite etc. fook off in January for a month to play in the African Nations Cup? Or is that different? since you've raised this subject, when are FIFA going to make this tournament (and Copa America ?) into 4-yearly tournaments like the European Championship ?
June 11, 200719 yr no, it would not be ok, IF it happened speculate all you like on what might happen, we're talking about what has happened also the point you make is different to what's going on Bentley has played just as many games as most of the U21's squad but has pulled out, not because of injury, but because he's tired he also did it on the eve of the tournament leaving Pearce no time to find a replacement, he also thinks he has more chance of getting in the england full squad, well, not if you pull out of squads at the last minute i personally don't care about the U21s, but it's clear to see Bentley has acted like a tw*t because if was knackered he should've said something the day the season ended His timing was shite, fair enough, but he couldn't pull out of the squad until he was included in it. If he'd have said he was injured when he wasn't, and was subsequently found out, there would have been even more of a furore; at least (as a previous poster said) he was honest. The general point I was making is that if an England player pulls out of an England squad (albeit the under 21's, about whom no-one previously gave a flying fook until they somehow managed to reach the finals of an international tornament) they are slaughtered, but the very same people are the first ones to moan if their club side loses players to other international teams, in full international tournaments.
