I'm not buying into any rumours just yet, but I'm with Gummers - a bit of midfield spark could get us going with Nolan, Speed and McCann all being "workman-like" players.

It would be hard to figure where he would fit into our system

I think most of us have only seen us play once this season, and that game can (hopefully) hardly be used as a guide, so I'm not sure exactly what system prospective signings will or won't fit into.

 

I can't see him coming, unfortunately, but players like Riquelme should define systems, not adapt to them.

The guy is WORLD class, you don't think where will he fit in, he is the kind of player that you build your team around.

 

There is no way we will get him, but if we did IMO he would be a bigger capture than Anelka.

He is serious quality.

 

But personally, I'd rather we played Diouf and Anelka as the front two with Davies and Helguson as backup, and invested in wide players if we insist on playing 4-4-2. We've got one (Willhemson) on the books, Stelios and Braaten at a push. Vaz Te, Nolan and Diouf just... aren't

 

Playing it with square pegs forced into round holes is just ridiculous

Ok Homer, its an option and certainly a valid opinion

Just be careful with a 433 that we dont come up against a wide 442 as in two wingers and two solid central players

or a team that has wingbacks in a 352, as FSA said, you have to stay solid!

 

However IF we bring in a player like Rick Helmay we could always start 433 and if its going to plan we have width in abbundance to change the formation to 442

Davies would happily play on the wing too, unlike Dioufy.
