Underpants Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Thought he took his goal very well against Reading and at the moment my first impressions are on the positve side. Looks like a more direct type of wide man, if that's what he is. He looks pretty nippy and when he gets the ball and he's straight at the defenders, none of the running around the houses like Stelios. He's not been up against any major stoppers yet, and this direct approach he has may be very frustrating when he is. I only hope he doesn't turn out to be another Pederson/Stelios type player.

At the time those guys did us proud and I hope Braaten has as much an impact as those two.
Underpants Posted August 27, 2007 Author Posted August 27, 2007 At the time those guys did us proud and I hope Braaten has as much an impact as those two. Never was in the anti Pedders or Stelios camps, and I don't want this thread to divert in to one about them two. My point was that they did 'frustrate' a lot of fans and I only hope that Braaten doesn't do the same.
Burndens Bogs Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 He could do with shedding a stone, then he needs a bit of time to adjust to the pace of the Prem. FWIW i reckon he'll be a good 'un
cbwfcd Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Looks like he will be good, he could have had at least another goal at the weekend if the ball was played to him.
Mounts Kipper Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Raw direct awesome power and pace, he could be special if he knuckles down and sheds some weight, one thing is for sure you will not see ferdinand or terry playing in carpet slippers at the reebok if braaten is around.
Rembrandt Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Braaten did look a bit overweight, and will take a bit of time to adjust to the Prem. But careful - his build may be part of his aggressive attacking approach, and may not impact his speed too much. Should be interesting to see how he adjusts .....
HomerJay Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Homer says he's bobbins so he must be he looked exactly as i said, head down and no idea of what was a around him. but if he comes on for last 10mins each week and does as he did on sat, i'd be more than happy.

HomerJay Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Baits workin' then no biting here, just stating the facts
jolly-olly Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Is he not a Norwegian international? Can't be a bad un if he is. I thought he did well when he came on. If he can run that fast with a bit of timber I bet he is lightening without it.
trotter58 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Is he not a Norwegian international? Yes. He plays up front for them, rather than out wide.
mart32 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Reminds me of Big Trevor Morgan with his fleet footed style. Sumo!

mart32 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Braaten has become one of the most profiled players of the Norwegian Premier League, through his colourful, untraditional and artistic playing style. He has become known especially for his individual technical skills and physical strength, and as a player who will do unexpected things on the field, surprising both opposing players as well as the audience. (soure : Wikipedia).
HR Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 surprising both opposing players as well as the audience. (soure : Wikipedia). Mark Gavin had those qualitites in abundance.
Traf Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Quoting Wikipedia adds as much validity to any discussion as adding the word FACT.
magic legs Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Anelka must be a strong lad too - when Bratten jumped onto him after scoring I feared he would put his back out!
