Not Quite Sure What Happened Today

thought we played well enough to win, but when sammy took mccann off the midfield fell apart.

not too dishearted really as is was a crackin header to win it.

diouf and anelka played really well.

cid as many have already said, he is not up to the task just yet.

obrien was superb when he came on, a proper defender at last!!!

and wilhelmsson, how fukcin quick is he!!!

everton came for a draw and snatched a win, its what they do. and do it very well to be fair.

dont think ive ever been so optimistic after a defeat.

problem trotter has is that he whinged and whined about the style of play such a lot

he was sooooooooooooooooo sure we could play wonderful flowing football and finish top 6

most folk knew it was going to happen, certainly not overnight

sadly, trotter and maybe sammy lee, didn't

Think you're confusing me with someone you just invented.

Do you mean 'violent' Blackburn btw? Can't see their approach is much different to ours under Allardyce...formation might be, ethic isn't

Trotting out half-arsed cliches about their style of play two or three seasons ago just confirms that you really don't know what you're talking about.

If people want a debate, i'll have one. If they want to indulge in childish point scoring, then they deserve everything they get.

Sorry, didn't realise i was on Bolton f**king Banter. If you're going to dish out abuse then don't start crying when you get it back.

Pathetic.

No, no, no.........I'm not having that. Mod Preview comes out down here on the first Friday of every month. I look forward to it and last months back cover was this:-

why so defensive, ya big girl...

In no order,Gary Johnson,Nigel Adkins,Iain Dowie,Adrian Boothroyd,Alan Pardew,Simon Grayson,Tony Pulis,Dave Jones,Paul Simpson and Ian Holloway are 10 managers in the Championship who i would rather have managing Bolton than Lee.

All 10 of those have achieved something in management.ie they have got a team promoted.

For us to offer the job to someone who had achieved nothing in management was amazing. It doesn't matter whether Lee is a good communicator or not,the only way to know whether his tactics work is when he has managed a team. And as a Premier League club we have too much money and prestige to be taking a gamble on something like that.Because you have to be cautious and assume that someone can't manage until they have proven that they can.

Put your ironing board away George, you must be fishing.

I do agree that theirs not much advantage from continuity when your style of play, backroom staff and playing personnel are overhauled overnight. I look forward to a Dowie or Brown gaining the right amount of experience at a decent level, then maybe next time we can have some realistic alternatives. I will stick by LSL until he has had a fair crack then enoughs enough.

Oh and you 2, get a room....

highest foul count of any premier league game this season with 25 this weekend (next highest is erm blackburn again with 22)and an average of 20.75 which is a lot higher than anyone else.

If a debate is talking utter bollocks and then getting aggro when people point out you're wrong, i suppose this could be described as so.

However to me its just appears to be some bellend whittering on about shite, clearly knowing very little about the game of football.

I'm not fishing that was 100% from the heart.

I'm not enjoying life as a Bolton fan at the moment because i don't have any faith in the manager.I think the club will be in decline until he is replaced by someone with more pedigree.

I gave up on Colin Todd on Boxing Day 1997 when we only drew at home to Barnsley.I'd have replaced him them. But Todd was allowed another 18 months in which he relegated us and lost in the play offs despite having more money than 2 of the 3 sides who went up.

I didnt enjoy watching Bolton in Todd's last 18 months after i'd given up on him and its like that for me with Lee now.Although i didnt have any faith in Lee from day one.

I might be wrong.And i hope i am.

Didn't seem to be too concerned about the lack of respect shown by some of the muppets replying to my posts. Funny that.

I hear you George and I agree

Most experienced managers should have been able to keep us fairly stable, whereas appointing a novice manager was always running the risk of calamity.

If the Lee appointment turns out to be a success, fair play to Gartside. It was a 'risk'...but sometimes the risk-takers win big.

I just wouldn't have taken that gamble, personally.

None of the managers you mentioned have any kind of premiership experience. The only 2 that would possibly come that had would have been Peter Reid or Gorge Burley.

I do think some of the risks are unneccessary. Persevering with Cid at Centre Half is a big mistake. Allardyce didnt throw any of his new signings in straight away especially in such a crucial position, it takes months to get acclimatised. Apart from that, the attacking strength we have looks positive, Hunt is playing well, Samuel seems to improve every game as do Alonso and McCann. Nolan is a big headache, he looks like a fish our of water in our new system. His close control and passing were never his strong points. I repeatedly read about the lack of pace in the middle of the park, I think LSL is keeping Nolan in the team more to hold the dressing room together than his on field contribution.

I have a problem with that one George. When you say you don't enjoy watching Bolton now - I assume you mean you don't enjoy the results of late? I can't believe that anyone who knows owt about football hasn't enjoyed watching BWFC play football the last few games. Some of what we've done would have been drooled over by the press if it was Man U or Liverpool. Stiffen up that back four and play McCann or Speed in front of them and I believe we are a good side.

Yeah, the results and my faith in the management to change it.

We're like we were in Todd's last full season in Div one when we're good going forward but too badly organised to achieve anything.4-4 at Crewe 3-3 with Barnsley and the like. But in this league the draws will be defeats.

We've got a soft centre and its more than just the defence.I've got problems with the midfield as well.I dont think Alonso will make it and Nolan needs dropping.McCann and Speed would be my first choice central midfield in a 4-4-2 but i've doubts whether that would be good enough defensively away from home or at home to top half teams.

Anyway its depressing me this now and its all because i responded to Tony Cee who i suspect is a wind-up,so end of ;)
