No names on here but someone previously connected with the club at a senior level & who is still employed in a high profile role at another club (not Fatty but you're close!) has said much the same to me. Apparently Lee is second to none in getting ideas across to the players but cannot see the bigger, tactical picture.

 

The decisons made after the equaliser were naive at best leaving us undermanned against one of the better Premiership midfields.

 

For the record I enjoyed the game yesterday much more than the pragmatic rubbish served up last year and we are close to being an entertaining mid-table Premiership team but I don't think Sammy Lee is the man to take us there.

I might be wrong but I thought I saw McCann holding his groin. Could have gone off cos he was injured and that is why Nolan stayed on. When I saw Davo warming up I assumed that Nolan would get hooked but then Hunt got injured and threw the plan out the window.

As for Hunt I am one of his biggest critics but this season he seems to be playing really well. Keep it up son.

I am worried a bit but we should be reet. There are teams a lot worse than us. Derby, Birmingham and Sunderland will defo finish below us. We need to have a half decent league finish and maybe a cup final as Anelka will defo leave at the end of the season if not January. Remember he said he would not have signed if he did not see us pushing for Europe or one of the cups.

Key to this season is how we perform against teams in the lower reaches. The next two away games, if we get nowt, means it's going to be a long hard season. LSL is inexperienced at the level he's at. Here's hoping he's a quick learner from here on in.

We've gone from having a midfield which would camp out on the edge of our own penalty area and hoof long balls down the pitch, to having a midfield which camps out on the edge of the opposition's penalty area and leaves acres of wide-open space between them and the defence! Lee has got to sort it out sharpish. There's only one team worse than Birmingham in the Prem. and that's Derby. It's a must-win game, simple as that.

1. I know i am renowned for being negative and havent posted this season purposely but some of the optimsim on here has really got me chortling.

2. We are next to bottom for gods sake and once down there we all know how difficult it is to get out.

3. 5 games in and a top half finish in already looking out of the question and Europe well quite simply forget it.

I think Cid could make into a decent player, but at the moment he has not settled I think he has been directly involved in conceding 4 goals, and cost us 3-5 points in the process, he must be dropped this will clear up a lot of our defensive uncertainty, also putting davies back in the squad would make us much more difficult to beat, I would play him up front with anelka, and play diouf wide, he is also our best defender from set pieces.

For us to offer the job to someone who had achieved nothing in management was amazing.It doesn't matter whether Lee is a good communicator or not,the only way to know whether his tactics work is when he has managed a team.And as a Premier League club we have too much money and prestige to be taking a gamble on something like that.Because you have to be cautious and assume that someone can't manage until they have proven that they can.
