Highlights And Low Points

Featured Replies

Highlight: the trip! Tip top city, dead friendly locals for the most part, cracking kebabs in the old town, cheap ale, meeting Jumbo,Alex etc - top lads.

Lowlights: the match, the taxi drivers (apart from the pre-booked geezer right at the start who apologised when we gave him a tip) and the beggars. Real lowlight - in the square and a 7 or 8 year old beggar lass comes round carrying what looked like a doll but turned out to be a baby. Maybe 6 month old. Turned your stomach that did and how the f?cking police were just stood there looking on is beyond me.

Anyhow, well done everyone - good to meet you Bolty! - and roll on the next one.

Hopefully

PS cracking videos to follow on t'youtube when I've sobered up enough to load them

They need to get rid of them beggars as a matter of urgency. Prague is now Albanian free after they were persuaded to leave, I spent more there in 3 hours than I did in a day in Skopje.

Bolton stewards - what a load of utter c0cks.

I have been in London onece before, and i sow a lot of beggers in London as well, they where homeless englishmans, i even sow them in ritch areas, around pica deli surcus.

there are a lot of beggars in england but luckily for our children there's a support service over here that help prevent child beggars.

Paris and brussels are full of beggars too it's just a capital city thing i think!

I walked around town and down the river it looked a souless graffitti ridden place with human shit abundant under every bridge, I missed the old city, so cannot comment on that area, but I would not go back in a million years.

I beg to differ (see what I did there?). I was in Prague yesterday, typical beggars there just sat on the side of the road looking sad. The beggars in Skopje was aggressive children who at the same time as begging were trying to pickpocket. The police over there should do more to rid your city of them. The police could see them harrassing us and just stood around. In Britain (and many other countries) they would be moved on.

Low point - listening to you all singing "we want Mourinho". Pathetic.

We have a manager - get behind him during a game, not on his back.

The players will be hearing all this kind of sh1te and its not helping one bit.

The Ivan Campo chant was fair enough, he's still at the club and we want him in the team, but do we really want that Portuguese tw&t at the helm? No thanks.

Oh, and another thing - those burgers at the ground were rancid.

Highpoints - The night out around Sofia the day before the game :drinks: . One of the Anthill Mob leaving a lap dancing bar without his feet touching the floor - time to go time to go........ :D . Finding that our hotel room in Skopje had a computer in it. Drinking beers in 3 European capital citys (Skopje, Sofia & Prague) in one day.

Lowpoints and highpoints - Warm ham & cheese butties - a necessary evil. The two coach journeys between Bulg and Macedonia. Long rides and shite roads but all on board made the best of it with having a good laugh.

Lowpoints - The bogs at the Bulgarian/Macedonia border control point - NASTY!! 3 of the AHM having to share a double bed in Skopje.

Gay pile on anyone?

Any pictures Undies you want to share with the rest of the board?

I mean the bogs, not the gay pile on!

Highlights:

The unreserved friendliness of the Macedonians. When I checked into my hotel I asked the woman behind the counter to split a 20 Euro note as I didn't think the cab driver would have enough change. She didn't have any change in the till and gave me 500 denars out of HER OWN purse and said give it me tomorrow. I'd only met her 5 minutes earlier AND I was in the wrong hotel!

A good night out the first night in Sofia with the "Anthill One" getting launched out of a strip bar and in true Bolton fashion we had the bouncers pissing themselves laughing before we all staggered off into the sunset.

Making loads of dosh for charity

Our Bulgarian Alex taxi driver who was just a top all-round bloke

Ex-Midland stumbling linto Sofia airport pissed this morning about 45 minutes before our flight left because he had forgot to put his watch forward

H having sex with a radiator

Lows:

The children begging. Ironically the only place I have encoutered the likes is in Albania

The taxi driver at Sofia airport fleecing me when we got there for 20quid for what should have been a 3 quid ride.

Feeling like shit on the Sunday night and not going out. :bad:

You do surprise me :yahoo:

Nothing that hasn`t already been said really.

The Macedonian people were superb, very friendly. Although the beggars were a bit much and some of the taxi drivers were rip off merchants. Even the police were great, one even apologised to me when he stopped me from taking my bottle of beer near the ground.

Buying beer from the icecream lady with the dodgy hair is the future. Food and drink was great but i doubt i could face another cheese and ham butty.

Meeting Bolty, top bloke.

Not the wimmin police! Theiving bitches!

That ice cream can probably get a decent colour on her hair from her profits on Thursday, every credit to her

Bolty, top bloke is an understatement to describe that gentleman!

Oh and Ryan, the most pleasant under 21 year old in the whole world. The future of our yoof is bright!

Seeing the little lad beggars smoking and doing glue, they must have been 5-6 years old at most. Turned my stomach. The nob heads singing Lee out, and then complaining that he didnt come over and applaud the fans. What the fcuk dya expect him to do, come over and bow to us at the side of the pitch when some have been calling for his head.

Wednesday night was the best night of the trip for me, Irish bar and then in the clubs with the locals throwing some shapes :drinks: :yahoo:

Lowpoints and highpoints - The two coach journeys between Bulg and Macedonia.

was the final destination a low point but our extremely thrilling game of i-spy the high point?

I'm not one of yours but can I post my thoughts?

Highlights: Meeting all of you, having fun in the bars, learning Bolton's songs :) , the charity, the great experience of being between English fans on a match, receiving all those tickets from a lot of people although I only asked 2 of the guys to bring me couple of old tickets, receiving a scarf and all those souvenirs... YOU WERE ALL GREAT! :friends:

Low points: My car being carried away because of bad parking while I was drinking with you on the Wednesday night, so I had to go there in half-drunk condition and pay the fine and take my car back

:good:

It was nothing to do with the :drinks: honest.

Highlights meeting so many top people out there, to many to mention

The two nights in Sofia where class

Thought atmosphere at the game was good this time

The Macedonian birds outside the Irish bar night of the match

Getting off the coach and thinking what the f@@k have I come to with coach surrounded with people.. Don't mind saying I was pretty scared

Low points

Sat on the stone bridge at 7:05 day after the game thinking I'd be joining the beggars in the square for plane fare home

High point tho realising there was a bus at 8:30

Another low point that bloke nearly taking his face off falling on the back of my chair when we scored. Its hard to be concerned and celebrate at the same time

Probably not covered anything like everything here but thought whole trip was incredible experience.

Special mentions to Traf for organising coach and Squidgy for doing t-shirts thought it was hard enough getting there without organising anything else. Jumbo for starting chants and his face when they scored at the match. Fester and his mate for providing top entertainment both nights in Sofia. The Athy lads going via Croatia on the bus..Fair play.. Two lads on our plane, I better stop now its turning into an Oscar speech but anyway thought it was class everyone I met was spot on
