But has the football really improved since he left? The results certainly haven't.

We are back to playing the old formation and the football is similarly poor. The last game was probably an exception, but we always seem to start well against the 'bigger' teams and then if we don't score early when we have the chances, we fade away.

and you know what the worst bit about it all is

I'd personally say that the poor run coincides with the poor form of the midfield from Christmas onwards and the inability of either Sam to drop them

and look at who are the ones making the most noises - Nolan, Speed and Campo

other Sam wouldn't drop them and Lee seems unable to decide which ones to drop and how to deal with the situation correctly

just to add, its all very well saying gartside/davis didn't back the manager

you'll not be impressed when the accounts are published soon

we're losing money - lots of money

Wages up and income down?

But if the current form carries on, we'll be losing a lot more by dropping out of the division.

no we won't, cos we'll sell all the players

on that happy note, i'll leave you to think about the wonderful position we're in

Wages up and income down?

Down? What happened tho the tv money then?

If they are shipping money - only themselves to blame.

We need 3 points from the Villa game.

We cant wait to the Villa game to sack LSL if we dont get 3 points.

Regretably - he has to go now. Get the new guy in for Arsenal - take the pain and the inevitable loss, let him find out about the team during that one and gear up for 3 points versus the wolverhampton overspill.

Think Gartside has a bit of a problem though - in his (IMO) silly slanging match with BSA all through the closed season, he hailed Lee as the Second Coming and all of a sudden we were going to be playing like Brazil....hard to shunt someone with those qualities 9 games into a season.

I think people would still respect him if he had the guts to come out and say he made a mistake and appointed the wrong man

"It's time for these 'senior sources' to stand up and be counted. I know it's not everybody, but I'd like those one or two to come and knock on my door."

He added: "I hear things about my methods but I've been with these lads for two years and I've been at the FA and with Liverpool. All I'm trying to do is make sure we can compete on all fronts. It's bitterly disappointing these things are leaking out. People are trying to undermine what we are trying to do."

Those quotes show for me that he has indeed lost the dressingroom.

I think its fair to say he has lost certain key members of the dressing room, how many is uncertain. Gartside needs to decide if he is going to support his manager or these players. One thing I dont understand is Lee critisising players for speaking negativly to the press and then using the press for his own means himself.

We can only support any manager financially so far. When Allardyce took over I think we were on the verge of bankrupcy and if we didnt win against Preston I think the club would have had massive financial problems. The club dont want to be in that position again, which I can understand.

Best get shut of him now because he aint going to get any better imo and he could be responsible, with all this in-fighting, for the club imploding. Get a new face in and he can assess the squad and then invest where necessary in January.
