Ive Thought Long And Hard.............

about this but if megson is appointed iam going to boo him and gartside/davies, not for every game just the once. i have never booed a player and got into plenty of scapes with other fans who do. i know it will not be benificial for the team but i feel its the only way i can protest. i will not stay away from the game it is my club not theirs so what else can i do?

all the hard work built up by davies/gartside and allardyce is being ripped apart and we the fans have to make our feelings known, i actually feel sorry for megson but he is the wrong man, i have not met anyone who thinks its a decent appointment.

i have never this dissilusioned in almost 20 odd years watching bolton.

cheer me up lads give me something to cling onto

I hope he's appointed before tomorrows game. He will then be introduced to the crowd before the game who will throw shit at him.

forget the boo-ing henri. what good will it do? At the end of the day there isn't much out there to choose from for our next manager. It is down to the players on the park now to perform to their ability.

I hope that all the fans that called for Sammy Lee to be sacked without thinking of the consequencies are happy now.

I too have thought long and hard about this, I must start by saying I am amazed that Megson is even being talked about as the manager of any premiership club let alone my club. We are in the dumps at the moment and anyone can see we are in need of a majot morale boost, this appointment is simply not that. The good thing about a new manager is that it should lift the club and if nothing else see an improvement just from happening, I fear the opposite in this situation.

HOWEVER fcuk IT.

I support Bolton Wanderers, a team in the most competitive league in the world, we are a small club in an area with some of the most succesful clubs in the world a few minutes train journey away, from an early age my dad took me to watch Bolton not the glory clubs, little Bolton , my team. There have been some truely awful times watching Bolton with a quality of football and in grounds and condtions that were an insult to humabn beings, but looking back I would nt change a second of it, even looking back the play off defeats (except maybe tranmere).

It is part of being a fan/supporter whatever that you get behind the team in the bad times and then you really do enjoy the good times. In the past when things have been going wrong it has been hard to see any good coming again, but we still tunred up, got beat, got soaked, got drunk. But this is different tonight we play in europe, in 2 weeks time we play at Bayern Munich in front of about 65,000 fans. There will be more Bolton fans travelling to Germany than we used to get in league games. We might get beat, we might get soaked and will get drunk. You know what if we do go down and next season are 'only' in the championship it all will happen again.

I do not live in Bolton anymore but as anyone on here chief wiggum, satan, squidgy, bolty etc etc will tell you (maybe even crawley) that it is only when you live away from bolton that you realise how important the club is, it is part of our identity something we have been brought up with, some that is ours that wont ever be taken away. God knows how many managers, players. chairmen there have been in the last 42 years but they do not really make a difference it is the cluba and its supporters that give the club its identity, better players, better managers better results might make that identity a better badge to wear but fcuk me if you suppport Bolton for those reasons you would have packed it all in years ago.

HL you do not agree with the appointment of Megson, neither do I but I wont be booing my club, i will slate players who do badly one minute and be their biggest fans the next, that is my right. Do you really mean boo Megson ? What has he done wrong ? You migth want to let Gartside know who you feel you can do that now via email, but the idea of getting ready to boo players or anyone associated with the team just because of who they are is below you, do not get dragged into it, we as supporters are better than that. A few seasons ago Wolves lost in the play offs at the end of the game some of them had a flag saying 'yoyu let us down again' must have been made before the game, is that support or hoping it all goes wrong.

People might read this and think this bloke is up his own arse and got too much time on his hands but FUA, this is my club and I really do nt give a shit waht you think about me. 13 days till I get on a plane to watch my team in europe, 7 hours till i set off to tonights game, the g/fs lad is coming to his first ever european game and first ever night game and he can nt wait. He lives in Leeds and goes to school and explains to his mates that he supports Bolton whatever the result, I do not think the choice of manager ever enters his head, he is just a fan.

So we have 2 choices sit and worry and moan that we have nt appointed jesus or one of his close familt to be our manager or think fcuk it,we are Bolton fans a lot worse has happened and we have laugh, sung, drunk, snorted and in a few chases fiught away through worse, lets just sit back and start enjoying the crack, this is our club not megsons, not geertsides, not eddie dasvies's not anelkas.

Fantastic, well said I totally agree =D>

In a literal sense though, it is Eddie Davies club, isn't it?

In a literal sense though, it is Eddie Davies club, isn't it?

NO! It is OUR club. Ours and the 33 who died at the Embankment end. Ours and all those heroes of 3 Cup Final victories in the 20's who have left us now. Ours and the tens of thousands of cotton mill workers who graced Burndens terraces. Ours and the 1958 boys who smashed our most hated rival.

Ani, I salute you for putting things in proper perspective. Bolton til we die. =D> =D> =D>

No his is currently looking after for us and future generations, same arguement the tree huggers use that we do not own the planet.

We're customers, plain and simple

We're customers, plain and simple

Davies & Gartside may think we're 'customers' or 'consumers', but Bolty & Ani & Moose & me and the others all know we're FANS & SUPPORTERS who'll still be here when the 'customer services' people are long gone.

Now stop stirring.

'kin 'ell =D> =D> :good:

I tell you what id like to know, who are the 9 out of 699 people who voted for him in the manager poll in the paper?!?!? They must be nuts

Gartside, Megson, and 7 leicster fans?

The club (and most clubs) are not the fans. In fact, most clubs could easily survive if they played behind closed doors these days thanks to Sky money.

Every single fan can boo, get a refund on their ST, boycott games etc. Fact is the owner/chairman can still appoint who they like.

If any one person owns BWFC, it is Kevin Nolan. PG will have had to get his blessing before appointing a new manager, just making sure it woudn't upset the superstar England wannabe

Gartside, Megson, and 7 leicster fans?

Don't be silly:

Gartside, Megson, Megson's mum and dad & 5 Leicester fans!

The club represents the identity of our town. Ignoring your fooking stupid and annoying pseudonym, the uncompromising and aggressive style we played in the heydays of Big Sam filled me with pride as, to me, it reflected the spirit of Bolton - in yer face and if you stand up to us you'll have earned our respect. Without the support of the towns people, the club would be devoid of a soul.

With views like yours, I don't believe you have Bolton Wanderers coursing through your veins like many of the fine contributors to WWays. This club IS the fans and you, sir, are a co?k.

this forum is priceless...

:::::lol:::::.

So explain why clubs make more money from SKY than they do through the turnstyle?

Fans have no power at Premiership clubs, NONE.

Accept it. The days of fan power are long gone.

You can rant at PG all you like, he can do as he pleases and there is nothing you can do about it.

Stop sulking, and support the club. I get so sick of the 'I was there in 58' brigade who think they own the club. You don't and you have no more say than the johnny come lately.

1) Simple you simpleton. The game has been hijacked by corporate w@nkstains and sold it's soul for the mighty dollar. Best example is that red filth down the road who have even dropped Football Club from their official title. They are now a 'brand name' and a megastore. Fook all else.

2), 2) & 2) I was at a Milan v Reggiana game about 18 months ago and the Ultras had a protest about season ticket prices going up by boycotting the game. They won the fight as Milan did not like the crowdless image which went out on TV.

3) Do you bother to read all of the threads? The vast majority on here are as loyal as it is possible to be. I do hope that the 'I was there in 58 brigade' comment wasn't directed at me. For a start it would be inaccurate. I didn't see my first game until the '62-'63 season.
