yeh i saw him wave his hands to the bench ask for sub then felt back of his left thigh so then when he came off n some round me was saying megson what u playing at had to mention to them to use common sense and also that he was injured, hope he is fit again for the city game

i think he wanted to keep the pace in the forward line and stelios wouldn't give us that but pushing ricky up front would do.

I see where you're coming from, but we needed a goal not crosses from the wing (we had plenty of those anyway) he totally removed our goalscoring ability. At least Stelios knows where the goal is

I am sorry but surely we have better on the bench that that???? Gardener has player left winger about once in about 5 years, yet he chose that option before anytthing else. Anyone who was armed with the arguement of Megson is too negative (and yes I have heard this numerous times) will have been fully armed with that choice of sub. Not only did we loose shape going forward, but JLS ditribution from the back was poor to say the least

as a decision in itself no, but as casino has said gardner nearley scored and diouf almost scored from the follow up. if either of those had gone in playing gardner upfront would've been a master stroke

 

All i can think of is megson wanted the pace up front and it worked to some extent.

 

we'll never know what could've happened if stelios had come on instead, perhaps he'd have blazed one into the top corner perhaps his lack of pace could've cost us we just don't know.

I have to admit I was abit flumoxed about the sub of JLS but pushing Ricky further up is no bad thing IMO. Having said that I would have preferred Stelios for Anelka playing on the right with Davies moving further forward. I though Kev was played too far away from Anelka.

I totally agree that Speed for Campo was mystifying with McCann still on the park.

 

The recognised forwards we have at the club as I understand it are ; Anelka Davies Diouf Vaz Te and Harsanji. Vaz Te is injured, Harsanji isn't ready so if either of the other three pick up a knock then we have to bring on a midfielder to enable one of the others to push forward.

at least megson showed he could shuffle his pack rather than like for like subs.
