Paddy Power have just announced that they are going to be the same as Shergar winning the national

I just want it to be Shearer because with no managerial experience he'd have em relegated quicker than LSL could. Nothin more than they deserve IMO. the more I hear from them, the more I dislike the "Toon Army"

They will not be happy until Shearer is manager, then when he fails they may come to there sense's but I doubt it

They've offered Redknapp a reported 20 million quid for a 4 year deal. All bets have been suspended. Pompey have said that any approach would be unwelcome.

Portsmouth will not stand in the way of manager Harry Redknapp if he wants to leave Fratton Park for Newcastle.

Redknapp is thought to be Newcastle's No.1 choice to replace former boss Sam Allardyce, who left the club on Wednesday.

It is understood Pompey and Newcastle are in discussions to agree a compensation package if Redknapp, who cancelled his Friday lunchtime press conference ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Sunderland, decides to move to St James' Park.

Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie is hopeful Redknapp will decide to stay with the South Coast club, but admits he will not prevent the Fratton Park boss from leaving.

Harry is our manager," said Storrie. "In my opinion he's the best in the country. Harry is the way we see things going forward here.

"If Harry comes to us and says he really, really wants to leave Portsmouth Football Club then that is a different scenario."

However, it is still not clear whether Newcastle have made a formal approach to Pompey for Redknapp.
