enough is enough, I am moving to the north stand joining zozzy and the walkden lads in the north stand, we need a singing section and this is the only place it is going to happen, starting with the fulham game, I wonder if the club would consider a cheap rate in the North stand for the fulham game to entice lapsed fans back, happy can we lobby the club, have we still got contacts within the club, we have to try and start something.

Everyone who wants to stand and sing should join you, if there is 300+ people stood singing for 90 minutes other people who are happy to sit will have no choice but to stand and join in.

Happy's leaflet drop request above got me thinking....

couldn't a few thousand be printed about people moving to the North stand and creating a singing section?and distributed over the next few home games?

just a thought...

I wonder if the orange warriors will take you out of the nearest exit or parade you past all your mates in the ESL so you can wave at them.

Now that's one of the best ideas I've heard...if the club won't do it - do it yourself.

Beats moaning and whinging about the lack of atmosphere - get pro-active.

Positive thinking until you got to this bit.

would be a good idea, if a few people printed of 100 a piece it would be less costly, I will do it for 1, could be worthwhile trying to get the BEN to run a story? I know it is a rag but what better way to publicise it, does anyone have contacts?

Do 'em two to an A4 sheet and double the flyers.

If someone knocks it up and sends it to me I'm happy to do my bit by printing off a hundred or two from work.

Then someone else can hand them out ;)

Does Smiley run a design/printing service?

Rather than just hand out flyers why not just get the good folk off here to move seats?

Flyers will attach the kids from the corner of the east lower, they need to stay there so we can create sound around the ground not just one end.

The only problem is getting everyone to sit together due to 'season ticket' holders hogging the seats.

We probably need around 300 seats in the lower tier of the north stand and I'd guess with a bit of shuffling around this can be achieved.

I will add a poll at the top of this thread so we can judge the feeling on this one.

Trouble is folk say they will move but not actually take part.

I'm sure someone at the ticket office is reading this thread, if you are please send me a PM to discuss the seating arrangements.

Come-on-you-whites.

Its got to be worth a shot, after all its unlikely the club are going to do something. I'm sure some people will be negative about the idea but if enough of us are willing to invest a bit of time in something like this, then it can only improve matters. Even if its just a few hundred people who are sick enough of the matchday experience and decide to move seats, the collective noise would be a damm sight more than we have at present.

Even if the first attempt is only a modest success, news will travel fast and i'm sure something like this could gain momentum quite quickly.

Exactly, Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.

Personally I like where I sit for the view at home games and wouldn't move, apart from the odd cup game maybe, but I'm more than happy to help printing a few flyers to gather those that would welcome a move to a singing section...

What about Mr and Mrs Boring of Bromley Cross who have sat in the North Stand since it opened and dont want their Saturday afternoon peace and quiet ruined by a load of thirty something notrights?

I'm not taking the piss here, there will be some who complain.

My answer would be 'f?ck em' but you know that they care more for them than they do for you.

That's the problem. If you sing you'll also stand. If you stand you piss people off who don't want to. The option for them is to move to the periphery but they won't. They'll get the orange warriors involved.

lets not get negative this early, there will be problems but that should not stop us from pressing ahead, the North stand is sparsely populated at the moment, if 3-400 move into that stand they can easily be accomodated, hopefully more will join in and Mr and Mrs bromley cross will move to an area that suits them.

if there are going to be season ticket holders who may object in the north, why not do it in the south stand then?

there are no season ticket holders in there, plus it will help the atmosphere given it's next to the away end it's got more chance of getting things going

if the idea takes off there is also plenty room for expansion

I thought about the south stand, but ruled it out because the orange warriors would be all over us like a rash so near to the away fans would cause problems, also there is a decent hard core of singers already in place in the north stand.

I'm already in the ESL, where the yoof sing and stand for 90 mins. But a few times the songs started at t'other side of the stand v Blackburn and it sounded a lot louder.

It's a good idea, and if it was to happen - then I'd prob move (plus it would be a cheaper ST).

At the moment something needs to be done to wake me from the Reebok depression & I hope you manage to pull it off. Christ, if you managed to get 50 people together they'd make more noise than the North & West stands put together.

Although the South Stand has more scope for such a move, I'm not so sure the club would like a few hundred lads moving over to the South Stand, just because of possible problems with the away fans. I would imagine the orange warriors would be getting involved a lot more if we moved there too.

And it's full of little kids and people with free tickets, South Stand would never work.

Why doesn't EVERYONE who sings just move to the East/South corner?

I know a number of lads who have tried to move over there, 5-6 of em and they couldn't get seats together. Those that were together were on the front few rows. Plus, its already been said that the yoof are already trying to do their bit in East/South corner, having another part of the ground making some noise would be good.

Nice one mate. Good luck with it.

Not sure if its been mentioned but maybe choose a game to tempt current season ticket holders to move for one game to see what the atmos is like. I have a ST in the ESL and it is a cracking seat which I have had since day 1 at Reebok so reluctant to move just yet but would try a game to see.

Why not try and get a full 'supporters club' together in there. Not the floppy hand lot withe their nans and mums, notrights.

For example if 30 or so Walden whites were all together, and the lancaster whites, london whites, etc got their heads together it would be easier than coordinating 300 twos and threes, and be a catylist for others.

On day one we had about 20 leythers sat together in the east lower and for the first few years it was a beltin atmosphere. Harldy anyone spent the game under the stand, and if they did it was becuase they were getting a half time round in.
