The Two Sides Of Kevin Nolan

Featured Replies

Below are two video's showing the two sides of nolan, the first his good parts, however this video isn't completely up to date and so doesn't show his stuff from this season including his goal from sunday.

Nolan being good

and below is what else kevin is capable of, which happens more times than perhaps he would like, this post is not me having a dig at nolan it because i think he is rightfully captain and in the team.

happy watching and post replies at which you prefer from him, its good to look back at his performances from a year or two back

Ever kissed a girl son?

Ever thought of being an MP?

4 minutes of his good stuff and 1 clip 20 seconds long of his bad stuff.

A very fair and equal weighted presentation of the facts.

Every manager is using YouTube.com these days to scout their players. These 2 minute clips of all the best moments of a career are evidently helpful (See Braaten videos). Regardless, DavidBWFC, not one to decide easily, I like the juxtaposition of the videos. Ok, ok, I didn't watch either of them because you can't form an opinion over a minute of footage...

Despite Bolty and Yatesy being right grumpy f?ckers, I found that first video good viewing. He is absolutley belting off the volley when he is on form.

IMO his form has picked up recently and hopefuly the scorcher of a goal at the weekend will mark the start of a resurgence. Hopefully the boo-boys will shut the f?ck up in turn.

Many people have commented on the lack of goals throughout the squad this season with the exception of Anelka. If you play a formation with a lone striker, then it's surely going to follow that they will knock in the majority of the goals?

We have some very crucial games coming up from a point perspective. With the new signings and Dioufy coming back form the African nations we have interesting times ahead my friends.

COME ON =D> :yahoo:

perhaps it would suggest we've had more good than bad from nolan

which is definitely the case

just that the bad is fresh in the memory (and was pretty bad) although he appears to be turning it around

plus people on youtube are more likely to compile a longer montage of footballers being good

the only one I've seen otherwise is a compilation of Frank Sinclair own goals

For what it is worth I am not in the anti-Nolan camp. Yes he has not been at his best over the past 18 months but he offers the team more than people on here give him credit for. Saying that though, if the reported ?5M offer from FSA was true, I would have taken a day off work unpaid and drove Nolan there myself.

My point was directed at the post from DavidBWFC. The two pieces of youtube could have been on any topic you choose - I was just pointing out that 4 minutes on one side of the arguement and only 20 seconds supporting the other side, doesn't make for a fair discussion.

Point taken though that it is easier to make and find compilations of a players good moments.

I think we've all (except maybe BW management) realised over the last couple of years that Nolan is good pushed up behind the striker(s), has great volleying technique, but is distinctly average in other departments - including the captaincy.

No doubts about where his heart is, or about his commitment to the cause. But that's not usually enough if he's not on form and used properly.

It'll be interesting to see what Megson does with his new players (hopefully more to come), and how Nolan is used in whatever formation.

nolan should play on the right hand side of a three or as an attcking midfielder behind a main man

its easy to criticise him but look at the goals over the years .

aye

if we were to play 4-3-3 at the moment then we can put Taylor in the middle and nolan up either side of davies like he used to

Taylor Campo Guthrie

Stelios Davies Nolan

christ, there's 4 english lads there

chuck in hunt at RB and that's 5

how times have changed

who should be captain then cause i cant think of anyone better. yes there is kevin davies but he is now up as loan striker and wont have much affect shouting instructions at the deffence when he is stuck up there. nolans pashion for the club and 100% effort for the cause even when he is haveing a shocker wins him his place as captain. hes had some realy poor games this season but he is still the most important player in the sqaud for me and i have a feeling alot of the players will be of the same opinion

would ya?

and do what, waste it on mcfadden or take a punt on an unproven marlon king

Football is a business.

Every player has his re-sale value and at ?5M I would sell.

Maybe individually Nolan would be woth that. But for me he is worth a lot more to us, especially at the moment. He is returning to form, he is our club captain, he is the most likely person to score our goals. He might only be worth ?5m, but to us he is worth a lot more. Like somebody said what are you going to replace him with for that ?5m?

We've got more English players than most clubs in the PL now.....but the media don't seem interested anymore.

Remember the sh?te we used to get about foreigners playing for us <_<

nolan was NEVER as good as people built him up to be.

nolan was NEVER as bad as people make out either.

he is a solid premiership midfielder, nothing more, nothing less.

its only because the goals have dried up, his form has dipped.

I hope that oliverbwfc93 dies of Leukemia.

& them that don't use Championship Manager, that scouting thing is sooooo dated.

Nolan is a good goalscorer. He isn't much more, but goalscorers are the most valuable commodity

We should play him in a position where he can score his quota and get the rest of the midfielders to do the other stuff

Same goes for Stelios to a point - all round game not great but he knows where the goal is. You can't have a team full of Davies' and Diouf's - you need the goalscorers too.

what kind of comment is that?

Agreed. I hope he dies of a random nasty disease.
