I'm seriously worried now.

Why have all our ITK sources gone to ground when the rest of us are waiting for 3-4 new players to be brought in during the next 7 days ?

3-4? that way to much to ask...

a striker and maybe a centre back is what we can expect...

1 or 2 players is what we can expect, if we get any before 1st Feb.

Really?

why do we need 6-7 new players during the transfer window? surely it would be better buying in baulk int eh summer when they would have more time to gel?

i think if we just buy a striker id be happy...

I couldn't give a fcuk who we are trying to sign in the summer! NOW is what matters! We cant even negotiate contracts with the players that are already here with the clubs League status in jeapordy! Never mind new faces! Tribal is a load of bollocks anyways so.........................

Erm .... yeah, really ! Think about it.

We've only one fit striker, and he doesn't score many ........ well, goals anyway. Vaz Te and Helguson won't be match fit for a while even once they're physically recovered, and not much sign previously that they'll score many goals anyway. Diouf not due back for 3 weeks, doesn't acore many, and may be more tired than not. None of them have much pace.

There's no-one in midfield with pace or guile to create chances for any striker, as Anelka found out.

We still haven't signed a strong organising centre-back, and Meite will be away/tired same as Diouf.

Summer would be the best time to strengthen, but this season we ain't got that luxury. Not if we want to survive in the Prem.

If the worst happens and Megson only gets one more player in, IMO:

A centre back we can just about manage without - in desperate measures the likes of JOB can play there.

A goal scorer is vital though - no infact crucial - to our hopes of staying up. If that goal scorer is an out-and-out striker in the Anelka mode or a penalty area man who can work off the Davies knock-downs, I don't really care.

Agreed Yatesy.

Just a couple of other thoughts though :-

Not easy to find an Anelka replacement - up front on his own & having to be the main scorer; pace, strength, control, finish. If we can find the next Drogba, we'd be fine.

A penalty-area man to work off Davies would be useful, but would Megson play 2 up front.

Thats why we should have got someone in before Anelka left, this could cost us dearly.

I disagree. i think 4 players would be 2 to many...

We have a fairly big squad as it is.

1 Striker and 1 defender would suit me, althoguh as above i would just settle for a striker....

relax there are still 7 days... :)

Normally I'd agree with you. But these are the players that should have been brought in over the last 2 years and haven't been.

No point quoting the size of LSL's squad (which is what it is, other than the 3 recent signings), when most of us (including Megson) think that hardly any of the fringe players are good enough for the first team.
