so we are expecting players who as you all say don't give a shit to respond positively by giving them shit again. i accept people have their own opinions but i disagree with this one. we should be backing the side.

so we'll clap and cheer them all the way to the fizzy pop league while they honour thier contracts and f?ck off as soon as thier agents can get them out of there..

if they played with passion and heart i'd agree with you 100%

I know what you mean, and that's my usual standpoint - but there has to come a stage where its clear they really don't give a monkeys and are just taking the piss. I mean we all turned up, we all gave them backing from the off....but eventually there comes a point where they have to take responsibility - and by "them" I mean players, manager etc. And if they dont, then they deserve all the grief they get.

i don't think we lack passion i think it is fitness and quality

Took mine off for the first time yesterday.

SHOWER OF SHIT.

Getting behind the team has failed. A few choruses of 'You're not fit to wear the shirt' might have the desired effect. It worked for West Ham.

I think you'll find a small ugly South American bloke worked for West Ham.

i don't think we lack passion i think it is fitness and quality

tell me your f?king joking?????????

if i hadn't seen you yesterday i'd say you can't of watched it..

i'm a tight c?nt and get my ticket money's worth so i NEVER leave early but i left at 3-0 as it was painful to watch

i too left early. the team is lacking fitness and general quality. every game we get to about 65 70 minutes and the team is fucked. none of them can hardly run. there is more to our poor side than a lacking of passion.

But you all keep saying how Nolan et al are so fit, not an ounce of fat on them.

Unfit, uncaring. Megson ripped out any passion when he left them at home for a cup tie that most of them had worked hard to gain entry to.

calling for megson and gartside achieves fcuk all. why not get behind the team. oh right because thats too ragging easy. "20 years i have been watching bolton" if that is true why not ragging get behind the side you love. ragging idiots

I disagree in this instance.

The trust has gone, contract broken.

For me, from Lisbon.

If we had achieved anything after leaving our "better players" at home, then Lisbon would have paid off.

For me, it is for club to show something to me for me to get behind.

I truly believed that we would get out of this mess we are in....................but not now

Maybe it wasn`t just sour grapes from Cid when he left complaining about the training or lack of it

You reap what you sow & we have been sold down the river by the people in charge of our club

BUT

Why are we surprised its Boltons M.O & always has been.

Megson ripped out any passion when he left them at home for a cup tie that most of them had worked hard to gain entry to.

absolutely....

to leave players at home...never mind even on the bench for a game and a stadium that most of them have yearned to play in all their carears was a huge mistake...and from that point on that mug was doomed.

spot on that man

agree

at the time I thought Megson was doing sort of the right thing but if backfired spectaculary starting with the dour performance at wigan which shows he doesn't have the ability to manage his squad

alladyce may have done the same thing once or twice when picking his european sides but at least the players knew who was boss because he made sure they knew and got them playing for him

megson is not the same sort of manager and we are now counting the cost of his appointment, or more so the fact big sam arsed licked his players into performing, you could argue that it's the players who are the problem if they are the ones refusing to play for him

but he quit forest ultimately because the players wouldn't do what he asked of them and now it's happening again

the whole thing is one big mess but the lisbon away selection seems to be key

Left Villa Park after the 3rd goal went in.

Apart from 5 minutes when we had a few corners we were totally abject.

No passion, no idea going forward, not winning any second ball, poor defending.

For Megson to come out and say we are no worse off than before the game, he is right, but what if we'd

have won ?

We don't look like winning a 1 ticket raffle.

What had been built up over the last 10 years has been destroyed in a year and a half.

Take a bow Mr Gartside and then F OFF !!

I agree with getting behind the team, but come on, after the recent performances you can't

pretend everything is all right.

If anyone on here performed like that at work consistently over 9 months they would be sacked.

Lets get in the real world.

I feel smug at being one of those who predicted doom after Lisbon.

So many of you on here just looked at the fact that we needed to rest and it would be worth it. But what I (and others) said back then has rung true. The players left out were gutted and as a result, can't be arsed to play for Megson.

Gutted to be going down, but I did tell you so

I feel smug at being one of those who predicted doom after Lisbon.

If you feel smug at this moment in time you truly are a top class bell-end.

Irrespective of being right or wrong with your predictions.

Going back to the original thread :-

There's no use the fans arguing (or even fighting) among themselves, especially not about what happens next. FFS .... we're not even anywhere near the 'what next' situation yet, as far as we know.

The fans need to get together to change WHAT IS NOW, and concentrate on the real villains of the piece - and they're all 'working' at the Reebok.

I think he was trying to get a rise.

I think he was trying to get a rise.

That would still make him a cock

There are many reasons why we are where we are

Not backing BSA in the 2006/7 transfer window was the first followed by appointing LSL who had no pot to buy quality and brought in a load of rubbish.

The the real big mistakes - appointment of a complete idiot as a manager; the sale of the only player we had who could score goals (or worse not replacing him);

then came Lisbon - at the time I still believed we had enough quality in the club to get out of this mess and we had been unlucky (pompey at home). Leaving out players who wanted to do well in Europe and had not played in a week was the point when we really failed. The 'first' team were short of match practice by the time Wigan came around and there was obvious discontent in the club. First time in history that we had a chance of getting to a european quarter final and we blow that as well.

Since then we have lacked confidence and some players dont care; fitness is also a factor and Big E is right with that one.

Cant see us getting out of this mess and Gartside should first sack Mugson and then resign - we need to bring someone in for the remaining 5 games and you never know; but it wont happen.

One thing is for sure there wont be many at the Reebok next season until both of them leave.
