What Do We Reckon The Cost Of

Featured Replies

might have to do a return journey to London soon and wondered whether to drive or catch the train.

what dy'all reckon it would cost (approx)...... will be in a Renault Scenic 1.6 driving at a steady 70mph..... ta!

I make it to my brother's and back (High Wycombe) in my 1.6 clio on a full tank, for me about 50 in today's prices. however my dad gets free 1st class travel with vrigin trains thanks to his work, so I usually travel with him :D

?65-70 in unleaded at around 35mpg.

so ?45 on train plus ?5-?6 tube fares is looking a better option based on your guesses.

Let the train take the strain.

You can take some beers, your Ipod and a good book for a relaxing journey.

If you have a heavy weekend, you can sleep on the way back.

No traffic jams or road rage.

Do you HAVE to go?

I'd avoid it if I were you, save yourself a few bob, as it's shit!

HTH!

A bint with a mind..

** I suppose if national government follow Boris' footsteps, drinking on the train could be made illegal too. YHIHF :good:

Am a bit south of London and my car isn't exactly economic on fuel (about 31mpg) and a 500 mile round trip for each game seemed to be costing about ?90 petrol!!

I had the same dilema today. Eigty quid on fuel or sixty five with tube travel. I love train travel in the quiet coach, good book, itouch, and staring at our wonderful countryside. Plus you can get off at various stops in london and have a pint

You can take some beers, your Ipod and a good book for a relaxing journey.

Surely he's lost his iPod by now?

Lad at work dropped his Touch down the shitter

A good friend of mine has dropped her pager down the loo, then, a mobile phone.

The same person has twice scooped up her mobile phone in her bedding and put it through a cycle in the washing machine.

ok..... options are dep Wigan at 06.05 on Saturday to Purley. Kipping down at my cousins.

Returning Sunday after lunch...... all-in - ?50.90

(excludes the Tube tickets I'd need to bum around London on the Saturday day/night)

Dilemma 1.

Getting to/from Wigan at ridiculous o'clock.

Dilemma 2.

Getting from North London to Purley late on a Saturday night/early hours Sunday morning.

All suggestions - please forward to.......

Last train Victoria to Purley I think is 1am. After that every hour but they aren't scheduled to stop at Purley but occasionally do - basically get a bird to ask the driver and chances are they will. If they won't then each of those trains on the hour stops at East Croydon and taxi from there - not to far c?10 I guess!

Where abouts North London though?

go on virgin.com and tell em you want to go to purley, they normally include such for buttons.
