July 7, 200818 yr The blame for rapidly rising food prices lies squarely with ourselves. We need to start using leftovers rather than throw them away. Well Gordon, what the fooks the dog going to eat then. Every time this fella opens his trap he winds me up.

July 7, 200818 yr Thing is, most folk work full time now, not like years ago. If anyone thinks I'm putting a pinny on and making a meal from left overs.....? Well, anyway, I think not! Having said that, poor people who don't work should try it, seeing as they have the time. I think they'll find it's much cheaper and more nutritional than the local kebab/pizza/curry house and the top shelf of bargain booze. Just a thought.
July 7, 200818 yr How about he encourages supermarkets to stop BOGOF's and reduce prices accordingly..

July 7, 200818 yr Thing is, most folk work full time now, not like years ago. If anyone thinks I'm putting a pinny on and making a meal from left overs.....? Well, anyway, I think not! I'm the same, but the amount of food that myself and Mrs CWP waste, is criminal really. Every now and then we will do something with leftovers, but more often than not, we end up just binning them.
July 7, 200818 yr we all moan about food prices then chuck stuff away. is nt about 30% of food in the world destroyed rather than eaten ? Brown is a prick but he is only saying something that is probablly right.
July 7, 200818 yr He's diverting the attention from the real issue. That is the criminal amount of tax he and his cronies take from the sale of fuel. Reduce the tax and all prices should follow.
July 7, 200818 yr i rarely waste owt, disgarded pizzas/kebab/chinese/indians make for an amazing breakfast, my seven-year-old has started to following suit. roast dinners get divided into little pots, and frozen for the baby for during the week... the wife often gets lobbed a bone as well
July 7, 200818 yr Brown reckons there's food shortages too, because people are growing crops for biofuel rather than for food. So, Mr. Brown, why do you think people want to grow crops for biofuel?
July 7, 200818 yr how long do we think Brown has before he is pushed, or he thinks "sod this, I'm off" - I reckon within 3~4 months, as things certainly are not going to get better any time soon
July 7, 200818 yr David Cameron has today pledged that anyone caught carrying a knife in public will be jailed. I'd call that a start towards sorting the scum of the country out. Once the Tories get some more decent policies, Brown's exit will come quicker.
July 7, 200818 yr David Cameron has today pledged that anyone caught carrying a knife in public will be jailed. I wonder how he will back out of that if he gets in power, because he no doubt will
July 7, 200818 yr Waste? We really must defer to Mr Brown on wastage. HE WASTES SO MUCH OF OUR BLOODY TAXES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 7, 200818 yr Someone gets fed from our left overs. Every Thursday afternoon, every single bin in the back street has been messed about with, thrown about, tipped over!!!! Last week, the bin man refused to take our bin because it would not close!!!! So what do I do ??? How do they expect me to get rid of the rubbish they haven't taken, to then fill the bin to the level the accept ????
July 7, 200818 yr David Cameron has today pledged that anyone caught carrying a knife in public will be jailed Where presumably they will be taught how to properly conceal one, how to get really good ones and a variety of other criminal techniques. Might be a good headline grabber but I think it's very well established that prison offers little in either deterring crime or rehabilitating people so they are less inclined to commit crime. You'll have to do better than that Cameron, you f?ckin nob. And for what it's worth, 30% of food thrown out is a f?cking scandal and Brown shouldn't be talking about it, he should be forming militias to go round and physically harm those who do it, people who probably tut with middle class disgust whenever another third world famine enters their consciousness through the evening news.
July 7, 200818 yr But my mum and my gran never let us waste food when we were kids. That's why I'm so fat.
July 7, 200818 yr that was more likely to be Prescott How many 3rd world countries could he have fed rather than honking it up?
July 7, 200818 yr How about he encourages supermarkets to stop BOGOF's and reduce prices accordingly.. Whilst taking your point, Sir, these are always funded by the supplier and are written into their annual trading agreement as part of an overall package for the year. The benefit to the supplier coming from continued/increased brand awareness.

The benefit to the supplier coming from continued/increased brand awareness. Thanks. I am aware of how it works...what I am trying to say is that when it comes to fresh food these offers make a massive contribution to what we throw away...its a different kettle of fish when it comes to non-food or long sell by date products.

I am aware of how it works...what I am trying to say is that when it comes to fresh food these offers make a massive contribution to what we throw away...its a different kettle of fish when it comes to non-food or long sell by date products. Sorry, fella. I didn't know that you knew how it works and hope not to have appeared in any way patronising. Fresh food offers do indeed make a massive contribution to what we throw away. Especially if when doing a 'big shop' on a Friday means that you're chucking stuff out on the following Tuesday, free or not.
July 7, 200818 yr Bring back ration cards, but as somebody else said your Gran or Mum made SURE you didn't waste food!
