Hmm, don't boo him because it'll make him play better?

Every team in the league booed him last season: hardly inspired him, did it?

shows how many games you went to last year mr mod

and yw will booing bother him? are we talking about the same douif?

I don't get you.

Every team boos Diouf.

aye they boo him a bit

but when they really go for him he performs better IMO

I think his best performance was Brum away, midweek, when we won with that Nolan goal - he ran the show up fron on his own

world class that night

At the end of 2006, with Diouf as part of a front 3 with Anelka & Davies was as good as I've ever seen in a Bolton shirt certainly since I started following the Wanderers in the 1970's.

Newcastle away springs to mind 1-0 down to a dodgy penalty those three ran The Toon's back four ragged. Diouf prodded home a brace and but for a couple more poor decisions we'd have had 4.

When Diouf was up for it he's a world class player trouble is he had to many poor games & to many games when he was liability.

And that is the problem with the bloke. It wasn't even a case of play well one game, play badly the next. Hi sgood games were too far apart, unfortunately. If he had played to his potential for most of last season, we wouldn't have ended up near the bottom of the table, and he wouldn't have to go to Sunderland, as there would have been a queue of "big" clubs after him

correct,

was that when nolan got the last minute winner and im sure we was in the middle of a slump?

on his day he was brilliant but sometimes went missing,

have more good memories than bad ones of him though,

and as someones mentioned the front 3 of him, davies, anelka was as good as a team like us could have hoped for.

The Boro fans will hate him more than ever now. I can't see him enjoying the night life in the North East cos he won't get out alive. How many of these prima donas go to the North East and hate it?

I think him and Barton should go on nights out 'clubbing' together. (Barton may take that literally!)

I predict he will get sent off against us and then will spit in Megson's face as he leaves the field then he will do a flying kung fu kick into the crowd!

Hit the nail on the head there mate, hopefully this riga will put more effort in than diouf did and could be a good bit of business! Still need to sign more players though, our squad is way too thin!

Sunderland at Forest nite,(Setanta)

He wont play, will he?

Before you all start with yer"dont give a fcuk"

I just curious. :pardon:

Diouf did well and looked his usual self, best player for sunderland was Richardson, lad called moussy for forest looked useful bit like faye but a little bit more cultured.

In a proper match could have picked up a couple of yellows too.

Where's Richardson going to play now they have Malbranque - you can't play all three!

I'm a bit disappointed he has gone to Sunderland, dont blame him for wanting to leave for a bigger club in a European competition or anything but Sundeland? FFS!

No hard feelings though and I wish him well, by no means was he a prolific scorer but he was a great player for us and he will be missed a hell of a lot.

Don't know much about Riga but I bet he is nowhere near as good :nea: just hope he is better than Braaten =D>

And where do you base this opinion from?

And where do you base this opinion from?

Just on the fact that if he is a great player someone else would have snapped him up. Remember Braaten on you tube last season, he looked awesome, but then again everyone looks amazing on you tube. Like I said i don't know much about the lad but I dont think he will be as good as Diouf, I hope he is though! :drinks:

I can sort of understand that, but then you say

dont think he will be as good as Diouf

If Diouf was that great a player, would somebody else (other than Sunderland) not have snapped him up for ?2.5M?

people know Diouf is a good player but he is also a pain and very tempermental and is known for his hissyfits, I think will have put a loy of managers off. Keane won't stand for any crap with him. I wonder how long before it kicks off with them 2? not long I hope :drinks:

I don't think Diouf will be at Sunderland by the time they play at ours.

I would have thought that he would have gone there expecting first team football, as would Malbranque and as would that Finnish bloke (whose name I can't spell) - so that's 3 of them to squeeze into the side. You would then need to add Richardson into the mix, as he would expect to play all the time as well, unless Keane is going to shove him to left back. There are of course all the players from last year, who will now be frozen out as well...........

I suppose it depends on who throws their toys out of the pram first, I agree with Carlos, I predict he be loaned out somewhere during January '09

Hopefully a winter of discontent up at The Stadium of Light :yahoo:

The big concern for me with the loss of diouf/stelios and campo is no one can put there foot on the ball, also we have always tended to give a lot of possesion away needlessly, I think we may be even worse at keeping possesion next season.

I don't know much about this Muamba, but isn't that what he's been brought in to do? - regarding a suitable back-up, I think we do need another holding midfielder, as IMO J'OB is a long way from being a Premier League player, and I'm not always convinced by McCann, as he is a bit too slow these days. Unless the plan is that we keep hold of the ball high up the pitch, by lumping it to Elmander and Davies for them to hold, and then wait for the oncoming rush of free scoring midfielders.

good shout, our team looks very workmanlike at the moment. surely we are after a ball playing midfielder, muamba looks more of a destructive player from what i've heard/seen

Aye, Muamba is a fast, young McCann at the minute. The plan (i assume) is for him to develop into an all round Viera style player, but he isn't there yet. So yeah, the midfielder we sign has to be comfortable on the ball.
