September 3, 200817 yr just won in 4 sets at the US Open to make his 1st grand slam semi final. Now up to 4 in the world. Respect to the fella. Did he not train at the Bolton Arena and get paraded at half time at the reebok once ? Or did I imagine that.
September 9, 200817 yr That's really not the best picture of her Whites Man, you really must find a better one..............or one of Ana Ivanovic
September 9, 200817 yr I didn't get what happened there. Could he not query it or whatever? Can they not review it after the point, if the point has continued? got to stop there and then apparently
September 9, 200817 yr Could be, or it may be his true feelings and he immediately received PR advise to not repeat that kind of thing. I don't know and neither do you. Tennis is for gays (and EG) anyway. Thanks Anyone who can be arsed might want to read this http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/us...tory?id=3576713 they were talking about it on 5Live this morning. Murray's problems stemmed from an interview he conducted, along with Englishman and former leading British pro Tim Henman, during the 2006 football World Cup. Having been playfully mocked because Scotland had failed to qualify for that tournament in Germany, Murray was asked which team he would be supporting. "Whoever England are playing against," Murray joked. Unfortunately, by the time the voracious British tabloid press had taken that quote out of context, Murray was painted as a direct descendant of William Wallace (Mel Gibson's character in "Braveheart"), the Scottish leader who fought for independence from the English in the 13th and 14th centuries. Before this year's Wimbledon, Murray -- whose relationship with the British media has not always been easy -- felt moved to explain: "I am not anti-English and I never was. I am Scottish. I am also British. "I am patriotic and proud to be Scottish, but my girlfriend [Kim Sears] is English, my gran Shirley -- who I love to bits -- is English and half her family are English. My fitness trainer's English, my physio's English, some of my friends are English. I don't have a problem with English people at all." I like to see Murray doing well because it raises the profile of tennis in the UK. Ditto, for Henman when he was playing. However, I was glad Federer won last night because he was the better player and he's good to watch. And as an aside, Federer was a stroppy sod when he was younger, as was Nadal. In fact so were most top players - they only seem to stop being stroppy when they reach the top. Give Murray another 5 years and he'll be Pollyanna revisited.
September 9, 200817 yr You see, I'm torn now. I still want to dislike him, but EG says he's OK and she's generally a very good judge of character.
September 9, 200817 yr got to stop there and then apparently Yes. Most shots get queried when they're the "winning" shot and the rally's over. You'd have to pe pretty damn confident that a shot was well long before querying it mid-rally, as you always have the confidence that you'll win the point anyway, and if you halt and your judgement was wrong, that's the point lost.
September 9, 200817 yr Not read much of this thread but Murray dislikes the english so i dislike him - fcuk him, glad he lost and hopes he continues to do so - scruffy bastrad. Wish he would have burst into tears when federer was telling him he had done well in the most patronising tone ever - FAF
September 9, 200817 yr You see, I'm torn now. I still want to dislike him, but EG says he's OK and she's generally a very good judge of character. Something else that Murray does, is hang around to sign as many autographs as he can for kids, because he once hung around for ages for someone (I forget who - dementia again) to sign and got the brush-off. He remembers how shit that was and doesn't want anyone else feeling the same, if he can help it.

September 10, 200817 yr I like Murray...he's moody but so what....or do you all prefer 'Tiger' Tim the fist-pumping pampered damp-eyed nancy boy who's fans wail 'come on Tim' in annoyingly high pitched silly voices?
September 10, 200817 yr I play tennis at a proper club and everything.....and I don't bat for Yorkshire!
September 10, 200817 yr Mate of mine works for a Sports Mechanics company out in Qatar. Murray was over a little while ago with them for a week and my mate reckons he's sound. He's a good judge of character too. And if I was Scottish, I'd probably support whomever was playing against England* *for the record I'm not though.
