Clippercards

Who was sensible enough to actually buy these for school buses, and do you remember the holders which, if you peeled the back off, revealed a different colour every time.

Oooh the fun we had as kids.

I remember how after a few days they got completely screwed, with bendy bits that wouldnt clip. We should use them now for cash machines

I had one.

I had one of those, but it was very rare I would clip it, would last me weeks.

Rouge.

There would be about 50 kids piling on the bus and the machine would click about 3 times!

No fecker paid.

Was never organised enough. Always managed to scrape together the 14p required.

never used um ! had a free bus pass :good:

If you cut it back half an inch at a time you got an extra three or four clicks. Only worked when you clicked it yourself.

aye, my mum used to buy me one a week but I would soon have a build up having only clipped it 3-4 times a week due to congestion in the entrance to the bus area

exchanging cards for cigs was common practice and was partly to blame for my introduction to smoking

According to Alf Garnett, smoking is patriotic.

Got away with it for ages.

I remember getting caught out and my arse went after that.

Still used to save a lot of money, due to machines not working and drivers waving you on.

I had one. I used to walk home so I could make it last 2 weeks, then buy ten JPS with next weeks clipper card money.

I also remember before the advent of clipper cards was a machine in which you dropped your dosh in and it printed out your ticket with a copy of the coins you had put in, used to do it with a shed full of half p's......highlight of my day it was!

A videmat machine! (checks anorak and flask of weak tea) aye, we used to see who could get the longest ticket, baring in mind it was only 2p on the 82 (now 582) to Bolton.

Sometimes we used to shove all kinds of shite into it just to get a pic. Some worked, others just buggered up the machine so you got a bollocking from the driver
