Just remember, a certain manager got rid of 19 players, causing us to be down to 18 players....regardless of how good/bad they were, not enough of them were replaced, which is poor planning in my books

According to our official website

We have Jaroslaw Fogut

Also James Sinclair is a STRIKER !!!

officially before the game:

N Hunt Thigh Muscle Strain no return date

G Cahill Back Injury 17th Jan 09

T Cohen Hamstring Injury 17th Jan 09

J O'Brien Thigh Muscle Strain 17th Jan 09

R Vaz Te Knee Injury Jun 09

McCann broke a toe today (as mentioned by Horwich)

Elmander twisted a knee: severity unknown.

Smolarek took ill on Thursday

Nolan suspended

Steinsson suspended

Al Habsi on holiday

Al Habsi

Not a great team: but a team full of players missing/injured.

PS I can confirm that the team was picked yesterday and they travelled intending to have just 4 subs.

I got the info from a reliable source, who actually named the exact team line-up and subs bench.

I've supported megson on most issues, but I think he f?cked up here.

3 young lads could have sat on the bench and gained experience. If we'd have been getting beat by 3 or 4, they could even have had a 10 minute run-out.

Which one? Javlin Campbell?

I just can't understand why he would demotivate his own players by deliberately snubbing some players who haven't been hopeless in the past.

Harsanyi was a sub at Munich and Lisbon. Sinclair had a good game v Chelsea at the end of the season before last. Sissons came on v Watford in the Cup. He is an U18 International.

2 years ago these players were in the team that won the North Reserve league. Have they really gone back so far? And if so why? Or are they just the previous manager's players?

Exactly

Most will be back soon

We need quality not quantity in this window

cant believe some people are sticking up for megson on this 1. if some people off hear caught him bumming there Miss's they would still stick up for him.

are you tell me that we dont have 3 kids who could sit on the bench? no? so are you saying that no one in the academy is good enough to make the first team squad in the future

well whats the point in even having 1 never mind a reserves team

and if we beat united 4-0 youd call him

your point, caller?

and if we beat united 4-0 youd call him

your point, caller?

a lucky bastard!!

No points, so how was it a tremedous result

Do I really have to spell that one out, tyls ?

Given all our injuries & suspensions, (wherever I think the responsibility for that situation lies), a fighting 0-1 is far better than a give-up 0-5 ...... at least for the goal difference, if nor for morale as well.

Makes you wonder, passmosster.

Fot those saying 16yo's on the bench is no good : Harsanyi & Sinclair are 21, and Sissons is 20. If they're not injured, but are considered not good enough to be on the bench in a suspension/injury crisis like today, why are they still at the club ?

To add to the mix, at about 5.15 (whilst I was enjoying a nice glass of red) 3 young Bolton players did arrive on the pitch to have a little knock about and cool down. As they were on the far side of the pitch from the Box I was in and fully wrapped up against the cold, I was unable to identify them properly BUT from what I could make out none of them had the look of Fojut or Bogdan!!!

Lets hope Elmander isnt missing for too long. Although he hasnt set the league on fire yet, I'd rather have him in the team at the moment.

It wasnt anyone from the Under 18s. They played Stoke at home and beat them 2-0.

I'm not having it that at that club of ours, there were not another 3 blokes who own a pair of football boots.

If he was trying to make a 'statement' to the club, then he did. Most certainly. And I dont think they will be impressed either.

apparently we have only 18 professionals (GM said today)

What happened to that super duper 16 year old?

Well he doesnt play for the under 18s every week so Im guessing the prem is a step to far!!

I cant understand why we didnt take Sinclair, Harsanyi, Sission etc

Bad management and who is the manager? Yes Mr Megson. I wonder if we will throw next weeks game against the scum like we seem to be doing against all the big 4 this season.

Megson's reply -

"We haven't got any other players, but it is not just the number of players you have, it is the quality of the XI you put out and the gamble we took was on bodies.

In the main we have got away with it, but not today. Eight of the 18 pros we have got were unavailable and we lost two more today."

If this is right, and no reason to doubt Traf!, it makes it all the more unfathomable. The point is not that the players may or may not have got onto the pitch. How is it going to harm anyone by giving some young players the 'premiership experience' of travelling down to the Emirates, mixing with the first team and the honour of being a premiership substitute? Is this not going to motivate any academy lad who gets chosen and also encourage any who don't? Surely it will give them the impression that they will get a chance at Bolton.

It was a crap decision to name only four subs even if it was Megson trying to make a point about the size of the squad. That point could have been made with Academy or reserve lads on the bench. What it did do was show BWFC up to the rest of the Premiership as small time. It has also counted against Megson for me personally and I'm trying my best to back him. Not impressed at all.

He talks some utter sh?t in that piece.

18 Pro's my ars?.

To be honest his excuses are wearing thin with me. Does he ever say anything positive?

I pointed out earlier that I've supported him in the main, but I proved today that the claim of only 18 pros is utter horseshit.

We've 27 or 28, and 18 were available yesterday, therefore 18 should have travelled.

That was last season.

This season's wunderkid is supposed to be striker Jack Sampson. A few clubs are supposed to be after him, but it might all be bollocks. His agent is Peter Harrison.
