January 22, 200917 yr Me and the missus are getting the back bedroom sorted for our new arrival in April. Had all the walls re-plastered and so on but i now need a decent shop buy wallpaper and what not. Any good uns apart from the obvious ones that you lot know of around the Wigan/Leigh/Bolton area? We are having a girl so it gotta be all that girly shite i reckon... cheers in advance

Then get yourself to Horwich Carpets. He's a lovely mincer and is really helpful. They have loads of books and do reasonable (?18) up to disgustingly opulent (?150). HTH!

January 22, 200917 yr I would go for the paint the walls option as well, wallpaper looks dated . I painted my front room Magnolia a couple of weeks ago and it looks so light and fresh i am in the process of painting the rest of downstairs the same colour.

January 23, 200917 yr Is it wise to wallpaper over a freshly replastered wall? My sister bought a show flat where they'd done that and it minged of damp. Maybe it was her.

We are having a girl so it gotta be all that girly shite i reckon... cheers in advance in the same boat as you hughesy, just bought some lining paper cheap white wallpaperpaper from b&q, and painted it pink and lilac,you don't want to go overboard spending a fortune as when they turn 3 ish it'll want a complete change.also bought some bedroom furniture from above store just the cot to assemble now, fester wways answer to tommy walsh. what dates the baby due.

It's borderline criminal Wallpaper is generally used to cover old cracked plaster If you've got lovely new plastered walls just paint it (well, don't just paint it any old way, there's important methods to follow or you'll ruin it)
January 23, 200917 yr Like the others said. Paint it. Then, if you want something special, get an artist type person (or an art student if you want to save money) in to do you a muriel. Advantage of this is that it can be painted over when child is 5 and has more grown-up tastes. As a kick-off, balloons & rainbows - things with bright primary colours should hold the babe's attention but not unless you want her to have nightmares

January 23, 200917 yr Paint the walls (forget wallpaper) On bare plaster add about 25% water to first coat. If you want to paint a feture wall use low tack masking tape to make a nice sharp line in the corner. Or if you want to paint a design, use an overhead projector to cast your drawing, then draw round it with a pencil. Job done.
