As I said, what an utter cock! IMHO, being the media whore he is, he's manipulated all of this and knew beforehand the questions he would be asked.

Can't we all just ignore and stop talking about BFS?

Here Here. There's a game tomorrow which is a must win !

To cherry pick one sentence within the interview is a wee bit unfair. He was asked for his explanation for the breakdown in the relationship between himself and the club. His answer, which you quote in isolation, is quite a fair one I think.

Not really - shows he has a vastly over inflated sense of his worth to the history of this club.

There are also people who won major trophies and therefore more than matched it

right, I'm going to bite

vastly over inflated is vastly over exaggerated

cunt, aye

best manager, aye

players in the 1920s did shifts down the pit before winning the FA Cup

different game today

establishing us with 7 years in the prem and 2 in uefa

winning the 58 cup doesn't come close, sorry, but it doesn't

we say the same to newcastle / citeh when they use stuff like 40 year old cups wins to make their claim as a big club

Each to his own - I still say he's that far up his own arse he needs a snorkel.

What would the manager in 1958 had to have done to have matched Sam's great feat of finishing 6th once and losing the League Cup final to Middlesbrough?

His ego is an issue

But in my lifetime as a Bolton fan he has been, is and will be the best manager we ever had / will have. Remember where we were when he took over and what we achieved in the next 8 years.

Each to his own - I still say he's that far up his own arse he needs a snorkel.

I agree on that

but he is right in what he says

not many can match it (I say none)

just that he's coming across as a right arrogant c?nt when he says it

all this will do is make people boo tomorrow

that's what he wants

ignore him

Who ??????????? apart from Bill Ridding (completely different era from a financial point of view ) I bet you cant even name the managers of our previous 'trophy wiinning teams'

excluding the sherla van trophy of course.

You may not like the guy but dont disrepect his ahievements, when he took over we were heading straight for div 2 & he beg stole and borrowed to turn things around eventually getting us

into the prem & europe.

You lose your best

Charles Foweraker was Bolton's manager when we won the FA Cup three times in the 1920s.And as you say Bill Ridding in 1958 won the FA Cup

I am not disrespecting Allardyce's achievements of losing an Fa Cup semi Final to Villa, losing a League Cup semi final to Tranmere and losing a League Cup Final to Boro.I am saying Allardyce's track record isn't as good as the managers who won trophies.

Still think Rioch is more important to this club than he will ever be.

Don't think that's true, however I've never enjoyed watching football as much as I did in the Rioch/Todd era.

my feelings about the guy are split, I admire what he did for the club (although i still the entertainment value was pretty low compared to past years) but the guy is definately one of the most arrogant managers around.

Bang on, he turned us around

done it in a similar climate both financially and professionally

top 8 four years in a row, UEFA twice, established us in the top flight

with the squad that he took into the premier league, that was some going

i don't even bring the carling cup into as good a weekend p?ss up as it was

west brom and blackpool won the cup in the 50s

newcastle twice

doesn't even compare

Bang on, he turned us around

then f?cked off

didn't even try to keep us up

todd was as much a part of that success as he was

To manage Arsenal, near his terminally ill father in law.

Think I can forgive him that. Not like he left needing 'a break from football'

I'm split also; one one hand an absolute legend for getting us into Europe and regular top 8 finishes, the other a complete egotistical cunt who loves himself.

Course it compares.

The first division of the 50's was made up of the best teams in the country. There was still relegation and promotion. You didn't automatically get a place because you had a northern accent.

Most top managers do

Allardyce only got us into Europe the once.
