Megson In The Mail

Featured Replies

I DONT MEAN IN A GAY WAY !!

BUT HE IS SAYING HE KNEW VERY LITTLE ABOUT THE NOLAN TRANSFER , THE CLUB ACCEPTED AN OFFER AND IF YOU WANT ANY MORE DETAILS THEN YOU,LL HAVE TO GO AND ASK THE PRESS OFFICE OR THE CLUB !!

OH AND HE ALSO DENIED HE HAS BEEN LOOKING AT COX (STRIKER AT SWINDON APPARENTLY)

Next you'll be telling us Dickov's coming!

If it is true that the Manager of the club doesn't know much about a bid for the captain of the club being accepted, then something is very wrong somewhere

Made up story by the right wing rag that is the Mail, i do not believe for one minute Megson was not involved,

Mischief making. It is trying to imply that Megson has had these decisions taken away from him by the board.

Or maybe he has . . .

im not having megson didnt know

THE ARTICLE QUOTES MEGSON JUST AS THE GUARDIAN/TELEGRAPH QUOTED HIM THE OTHER DAY ABOUT SOMETHING HE SAID - SOMET ABOUT THE FANS OR SOMET .

The quotes are from Megson

So something certainly aint right at the club

Good lord, that's terrible if it's true.

Franzen/Blackburn/resignation is coming to mind!

Same quote on SSN, the inference from the ginger one is that it was done behind his back, if that is the case then his position must be in some doubt. Of course there is always the possibility that he did know about it and is trying to save face. The handling of it by the club is typically piss poor though.

Maybe the board expect him to do a Colin todd and walk. It'd certainly be cheaper for them.

or maybe Nolan asked for a move.

or maybe Nolan asked for a move.

Think that might be more likely.

sorry i must be blind...where does it say he didnt know about the transfer?

it doesn't say he doesn't know anywhere in the article, people just make assumptions

The artcle says he knew little his quotes say you need to speak to the press office.

That could mean he knew nothng or it could mean he found nolan having a sit in a cup in the dressing room and wants him out but does not wan to go into details, or the surgery last week has gone badly he will miss alf the season so will have more company in the injury room at newcastle.

There maybe other explanations but it is probably one of the three above.

It's not clear cut though is it. He's not necessarily saying he doesn't agree with it. He's saying he doesn't want to go into detail, whatever that detail is...

He's saying he doesn't want to go into detail, whatever that detail is...

and to be fair, why should he? - what good would it do?

maybe the detail will give the fans more ammunition?

maybe he just cant be arsed as its done and dusted.

maybe maybe maybe

too many fookin assumptions in the media and on this board imo!

All I'll say is usually statements worded like that seem to infer 'I never wanted him to go, but it wasn't my decision'

But then thats just my take on it

As you say, it may be far from the truth

We shall see

Indeed. He gets pilloried by most (me included) for saying too much about the fans. Sometimes it's better to button it.

My guess is that Davies has refused to sanction some spending. But that's obviously just a guess.

As I said a couple of weeks ago something is not right at the club, and I think Nolan/Davies could be part of the problem, both were big cogs in the Allardyce machine, it would not suprise me if Davies was next out of the door.
