Dowd...

Featured Replies

Is it just me, or has Mr Dowd been in training to become a darts player? Suprised he could run at times!

This picture must be of him in thinner times

Thought he was average to be honest. Made some bad decisions but nowt too shocking. And not 1 booking for us, must be a first for a while.

I meant his weight

Leave it out having a go at us chubsters, Ali. At least he's not ginger! :p

:) I wonder why you never see ginger referees? <_<

I know, I just thought I would add a bit of footballing matter to the thread.

Tbh Alibob I wasn't really checking out the referee's physique, so I couldn't really comment on it. I will take your word for it that he is a little fat fcuker :good:

this reminds me

ball rolls out of play and down the touchline for a spurs throw and back in again and out the goalline

gives a feckin corner

took the spurs players 3 attempts at taking a throw in at different points down the line to realise he'd given them a corner

was poor

Linesman watched it all the way, it rolled along the line andnever went out of play until it went over the goalline.

I argued with the knob-head spotty youth behind me in the NSL about this. Him and his Gran claim for everything:

Offside! (even though we were defending the South stand!)

Our throw (even though it OBVIOUSLY wasn't!)

Ball never went out. It was close but the rule is All the ball over all the line.

was good to see Dowd respond to a bit of stick as he went down the tunnel :pardon:

He will be getting banned.

He let Kev d. tackle people.

The ball for the corner did not go out. the linesman got it spot on. Which was good to see as in the first half he decided not play offside.

looked out from where i was

I thought referees had a strict fitness programme? Dowd looks like hes been on the pies

Disappointed with some of the posts on here. Watching the the game again on Match First he was one of the best this weekend compared to the rest.

Thought he was good on sat. Plenty of challenges and no bookings for us, makes a nice change.

Him and his Gran claim for everything:

Don't knock it, rembember when we played liverpool and reina 'handled' it outside the box.

I'm almost certain that the linesman wouldn't have given anything if we hadn't all stood up screaming 'handball', which speed scored and set us on our way to 3 points. =D>

Kev was allowed to tackle at Blackburn as well. So two games on the bounce where he'd have been given yellow cards for crunching tackles by other referees.

maybe referees are actually realising that SKD is hard as nail but also honest with it. palacios screaming when he was tackled reminded me of a da =D> vid attenborough documentary where the lion catches up with the poor little wilderbeast.

we lose our temper to easily- i havent reffed a game in about ten years as i got in my arguments then i did playing

Me to. I thought the linesman thought it did but didnt know which way to give the throw. The spurs players were as close as anyoneand I think the fact he tried to take a throw 3 times gave a clue!!

I might be totally wrong here but...

We have had a shot in the 2nd half (irrespective of what 'Arry might say), it cannons off a defender and flies out for a corner, hitting the advertising hoardings. Everyone knows it's a corner, the referee points for a corner... Meanwhile, this linesman who is on the opposite side of the pitch actually flagged for a throw in :nea:

Jussi is always outside the area when he kicks the ball from his hands. One day he is going to be penalised for this.

I'm not a big fan of Dowd as he likes to be the centre of attention with his hand signals and plays up to the crowd however I thought he had a good game saturday trying to keep the game flowing :good:
